I kind of miss high school though, even if it's a breeding ground for drama and stupid behavior. A lot of my friends moved out of the city and state for college.

Good job. I never did anything like that. Though I've had younger friends of mine who are still in high school call me and have me sneak them out of school.

My high school was way too big to catch skippers except on random unlucky instances.

I actually went and got myself a campus visitor sticker and kept it, that way the school narcs don't question my being there.

We have a security cop, who's retarded I beleve (or looks it) and his job is to just bust people skipping. The fact is, there's a park across the street from my school where everyone goes to smoke weed, and this is the place where everyone checks. If you're smart, you can just skip class by hanging out around the school because they're too stupid to look there.

You could never really do that at the high school I went to. You could ditch at lunch because quite a bit of the kid's schedules ended at lunch, and the narcs aren't going to stop a couple hundred kids to find skippers. But where I went, the exit of the actual school was quite a bit of a walk with narcs patrolling the parking lot.

Across the road from my school was hills and woods, kids liked to go there before school and smoke pot, but the narcs caught on quick. I've seen a few kids get busted doing that. I had no idea that the narcs could actually pursue kids off school campus.

All American high schools are like that. If you apply for an off campus pass at my school, you have to go before our super intendent and raise your right hand while promising never to violate the off campus pass rules, which includes not taking anyone off campus with you, only going to your house, and being back before the bell rings.

Some schools here might as well be considered that, but just in America, I guess, we take truancy seriously. Gotta brainwash the youth y'know?

I've never had to do that. I've just asked, stated why, (example: dentist) and they just let me go, never even asked if I had a note from the actual dentist or anything.

That's just overkill, though. My old high school used to call home if you skipped and occasionally gave you a lunch time detention thing that nobody went to, but mostly it was your own decision to go to school or not because, well, it's your education. Well, they always called home until you turned 18.

My small high school didn't care what you did at lunch, but they expected you to be there (because it wasn't an EVERYONE GETS IN) sort of deal. You had three free absences per class every term and then they started to get on your case about it.

But man, security guards, people patrolling, hall passes, appeal meetings with the superintendents...overkill much?

My high school was too small to get away with skipping class.

At my school, if you got 5 (my friends tell me it's 6 now) within a term, you automatically failed the class regardless of your grade and had to re-take it. So I didn't really mess around with ditching or absences.

If you skip class you get Friday school here, which is from 2:30 - 4:30. I've had it twice but only went once, and the one time I didn't go they suspended me for two days, lol.
