Pagan Altar are good.

ATM 04-07-2008 07:22 PM

Still digging Moonshine, it's some evil ****.
Pagan Altar are good.
Very good indeed. :)

@Masscows

Pretty much all of Katatonia's albums are great, my very favorite is Dance of December Souls with Viva Emptiness being my 2nd favorite. DoDS isn't very accessible though, and Brave Murder Day might be a better place to start, especially if you're an Akerfeldt fan.

Eliminator 04-07-2008 07:27 PM

only heard lords of hypocrisy and it was alright

ATM 04-07-2008 07:29 PM

The s/t is what I have and it is ridiculous.

Let me see if I still have the link.

edit: oops

You may wanna check out Mythical and Magical, it has a lot less messing around than The Lords of Hypocrisy and therefor is less boring. I still love TLOH, especially the title track which is easily my favorite Pagan Altar song.

Volume 1 is good but it can be kinda boring and the production makes it really hard to enjoy.

Nostalgia 04-07-2008 07:32 PM

All their albums are consistently good. It's great how Lord of Hypocrisy sounds like it was recorded in the late '70s.

Angmar 04-07-2008 07:33 PM

Yeah, their later stuff has awesome production, can't wait for the new album.

Txus 04-07-2008 07:35 PM

Lord of Hypocrisy is my fav.

pate 04-07-2008 07:52 PM

M&M is mine.

Angmar 04-07-2008 07:55 PM

:hi5: Lee! :)

I'll get around to checking out all of the albums recommended to me in the next couple weeks. Thanks everyone.

jrowa001 04-07-2008 08:07 PM

anybody like Hjarnidaudi?

Kage 04-08-2008 12:25 AM

I'm tripping out to Esoteric right now.

rasputin 04-08-2008 06:25 AM

What's the best Esoteric album? I got Subconscious Dissolution... but I haven't listened to it yet.

Neoteric 04-08-2008 07:18 AM

i need some Esoteric myself.

Iron Bars 04-08-2008 10:07 AM
M&M is mine.
Pernicious Enigma is > life.
Its 2 hours long though.

Unfortunately its the only one I've heard but I really want their whole discography as soon as I get some money, Esoteric rule.
Lords of Hypocrisy is my fav.
the vocals sounded shitty to me at first, but when you get into the flow of the songs you realize how awesome they are.

the2stranger 04-08-2008 11:09 AM

I like Subconscious Dissolution and Metamorphogenesis better.
But all Esoteric is sweet.
It's just that the production on the later albums gives it a bit more power.

Hi, my name is Brian, and I am addicted to Candlemass.

the2stranger 04-08-2008 11:18 AM

Hello, I'm Peter and I;m also addicted to Candlemass.
Welcome to our Candlemass support group, what's your name, and what's your problem.
:):):)

/Fightclub quoting.

I'm also in the supoort group for Nadja.
haha.

gmoneyguy 04-08-2008 11:23 AM

haha Nadja is \m/

I think I'll celebrate getting my speech done tonight by smoking a bowl and cranking the Nadja Jamz.

Kage 04-08-2008 11:24 AM

Nadja jamz rule.

pate 04-08-2008 11:48 AM

I think I'm the chairman of the Addicted to Candlemass group.

Kage 04-08-2008 11:49 AM

I'm not in that group. :(

Nostalgia 04-08-2008 11:50 AM

Lee you should be tossed from the group. You're a fan of no-balled Johan's wimpy vocals.

Wimp.

gmoneyguy 04-08-2008 11:55 AM
I'm not in that group. :(
Hey man, I got this killer Candlemass. This shit is straight from Sweden.

Tyr 04-08-2008 11:57 AM

After listening to most of their albums (thanks Tojes!) I still think that Nightfall is their best.

Nostalgia 04-08-2008 11:58 AM

Good job. It is, regardless of what the wimps in here will tell ya.
