I don't really like Parkway at all much. I only really went to see Architects and they were disappointing which probably made the whole night feel ordinary.

Yeah the venue is okay, I saw dillinger play there last year and they didn't have the best sound either but they put on a awesome show so it didn't matter too much. I think it also depends where you are. Up top I think the quality lowers but im not sure.

$150 would be a bargain. Bit of a project bass though I think, one volume and one tone control isn't enough to have much control over the sound.

I've been a part-time bass player for a few years. Thinking if I get this job that I've got the interview for on monday I'll buy myself a bass. What do I want to look for?

I dunno man, it depends what you wanna use it for.

Beyond the obvious like, good construction and whatnot, personally my minimum specs are 24 frets and a good EQ. You want to be able to get a great range of sounds out of your bass, unless you plan on owning one for every sound.

Well for that you need hands on time with the instrument. Just make sure it doesn't have any fret buzzes it shouldn't, stuff like that. If you're learning on an instrument you need to be assured it will give you honest feedback on your technique. Having a bass that will buzz even when you fret correctly, that's the kind of thing that ruins learning.
