yeah if youre the only person in the audience then the band makes you feel really special (also they are crying on the inside because nobody else likes them)

can someone tell me what song this is? this little ditty should be familiar to anyone who's heard R&B/hip-hop in the mid-90's (cant remember exactly which one it is though)

G---------------------------------------------------------
D---------------------------------------------------------
A---------------3-3-5-5-----------------------------------
E--3-3-5-5-6------------3---1-1-3-3-5---3-5-6-6-6---6-5-

should be instantly recognizable

br3ad_man 06-22-2007 06:35 PM

Shows alone are better than with other people, unless it's just one other person.

last.fm must not like the mountain goats because it never scrobbles them

Thanks 06-22-2007 07:42 PM

So I've been teaching myself clarinet from a book for about two weeks now. I just got to page 24, which introduces notes with the register key, and now I'm sunk!

YDload 06-22-2007 07:56 PM

register keys are the easiest part of any woodwind instrument. ooh let's press this little button with our thumbs and instantly go up an octave!

Thanks 06-22-2007 08:04 PM

Yeah except my high notes sound like butt.

margin0walker 06-22-2007 10:43 PM

"Not Unlike A Kite"

it's pretty neat if you ask me. Some cool vocal harmonies and melodies but i guess i am biased.

So I've been on a bit of a surf rock phase, anybody have any suggestions of something I should listen to besides Dick Dale or The Ventures?

Thanks 06-23-2007 03:13 PM

The Alesis Micron is a piece of trash.
So I've been on a bit of a surf rock phase, anybody have any suggestions of something I should listen to besides Dick Dale or The Ventures?
i love surf rock ... went through a big phase a couple years ago. try:

the Lively Ones (their song "Surf Rider" plays at the end of Pulp Fiction)
the Tornadoes
the Trashmen
the Atlantics
Fender IV
the Chantays (originally did "Pipeline")
the Hondells (more poppy Beach Boys-esque stuff; Yo La Tengo covered their song "Little Honda" on I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One)
Mr. Gasser & the Weirdos
the Surfaris (originally did "Wipeout")
the Shadows

and then theres a lot of cool revivalist stuff with different influences. check out Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, Laika & the Cosmonauts, Jetpack, Lo Presher, and Man Or Astro-man?,

Boilermaker 06-23-2007 07:41 PM

The Trashmen are awesome. Everyone knows 'Surfin' Bird' but that whole album is really great.

Also, YDload or Anxious, can you make this my avatar please?
