EDIT: To Penguin - Can you read?

I'm not a huge fan of South of Heaven, mainly becuase i don't like the slower Slayer songs.
I'm not a huge fan of South of Heaven, mainly becuase i don't like the slower Slayer songs.
That's the reason why I like South of Heaven. I'm huge on Thrash, but Slayer's fast stuff p*sses me off. It's too bland

RetiredAt21 03-28-2005 12:27 PM

Same here, I like the speedier stuff.

ForiegnPenguin 03-28-2005 12:28 PM

^Hardly
I don't have SOH so I shouldn't be talking.

CaptainWaits 03-28-2005 12:33 PM

So has anyone yet heard Overkill's Relix IV??

ForiegnPenguin 03-28-2005 12:35 PM

I think Slatanic has it and said good things about it.

DisposableHeroes 03-28-2005 12:36 PM
So has anyone yet heard Overkill's Relix IV??
Not i, but the guys on the Exo board mostly think its very good. Only a few people think its mediocre/tired sounding

CaptainWaits 03-28-2005 12:38 PM

Yeh I heard from many that it was better than Killbox

DisposableHeroes 03-28-2005 12:43 PM

Just a useless fact for everyone, the song Darkness Descends is actually based on a Judge Dredd comic. No joke, i can find the interview where Gene says it if anyone doesnt believe me

CaptainWaits 03-28-2005 12:50 PM

I heard about that somewhere too some time ago

DisposableHeroes 03-28-2005 12:51 PM

I was a little surprised myself

SLATANIC-666 03-28-2005 12:57 PM

Yeah, I have RELIXIV, I like it, it has energy and I really can't say a bad word about it, didn't really like 'Old School' too much though.

A bunch of Anthrax's songs obviously were about Judge Dredd (I am the Law), and Holy Wars....The Punishment Due, well actually just The Punishment Due part is about the punisher

Mabye If I start reading more comics I'll write better lyrics

DisposableHeroes 03-28-2005 02:48 PM

Y'know i was always figured Lone Justice was about Dredd in some way

I think it's Killing is my Buisness that is also about The Punisher comics. It's in the booklet of the album somewhere.

Well that's good to hear

RavenousMetalist87 03-28-2005 03:58 PM

Found Flotsam and Jetsam's "No Place for Disgrace" for 11.99, and then Sepultura's "Chaos DVD" for 14.99

I am a true bargin hunter XD

ForiegnPenguin 03-28-2005 04:20 PM

Megadeth's Choson Ones is about the rabbit in Monty Python.

RavenousMetalist87 03-28-2005 04:30 PM
Megadeth's Choson Ones is about the rabbit in Monty Python.
The Ravenous Rabbit XD

I loved that movie man.

"Oh it's just just a small little bunny rabbit"
*one gets murdered*
"RUN AWAY!!!!!!"
*rabbit glides in mid air with red eyes and fangs*
"QUICK! USE THE HOLY HAND GRENADE!"

Ok so my memory really sucks, but I know it goes something like that.

It's still a timeless classic.

More Songs with Inspirations
Testament's Disciples of the Watch was inspired by The Children of the Corn.

Kreator's Bringer of Torture was inspired by the song "My God. My Father" by the Kermits, and Stream of Conciousness was inspired by "Seth Speaks: The Eternal Validity of the Soul".

It is. The cover of "Saturday Night is Alright for Fighting" is awesome, and I liked every other track.

The guitar tone sort of sounded...muffled...but meh, it still is a good album.

The Chaos DVD is frickin' sweet!

FatalEnergy 03-28-2005 09:46 PM

Dreams of Death, is probably my favorite on there, or mabye Escape From Within
Thats a great album overall, too bad they only released two albums in that vein and then pretty much lost all intresting value

RetiredAt21 03-28-2005 10:06 PM

Escape From Within is great.

FatalEnergy 03-28-2005 11:07 PM

I just ordered Release From Agony, and Metal Discharge.......YAY! Go Me!!

NP: Anthrax - Among the Living (The Reunion will ****ing own)

Yep. It's excellent, even if the audio is a bit hard to hear sometimes. The interviews and second part are just flat out great. The way Max used to be...man...I can't believe how he mellowed down x.x

He was so awesome.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-29-2005 12:35 AM

Speaking of new albums this year, i wonder whats happening with the new Dark Angel?
