I've read Slaughterhouse V and Cat's Cradle so far and both were excellent. I think I just really dig his style.

Asdf: Why didn't you like Breakfast of Champions? Joe (sketchy) said it was his favorite from Vonnegut.
It just seemed to anticlimactic. The characters didn't much interest me either. I did like some of it, though. Vonnegut is my favorite author, and a lot of people love this book, but I just couldn't like it as much as I liked Slaughterhouse 5, Cat's Cradle, or Player Piano. I'll probably give it another try, though.
Did it involve writing some type of lyrics to a song?
No, more just bitching about this and that.

Well thats good clean fun.

AIRIC 08-15-2006 02:09 AM

What would you recommend after Breakfast of Champions? I think I'm gonna go for Galapagos, it seemed the most interesting.

asdf 08-15-2006 02:11 AM

I just finished galapagos. It's pretty good. It drags on for awhile, but it's basic idea is really interesting, and vonnegut is just the person to explain it.

Anxious 08-15-2006 02:13 AM

I have to read Frankensten too. I'm excited.

AIRIC 08-15-2006 02:17 AM

I'm going to read Frankenstein sometime too.

I really loved Cat's Cradle. Bokonism was really interesting to read about.

Cat's Cradle was the first vonnegut I read, and I've probably read it 3 times now. It's a great book.

AIRIC 08-15-2006 02:21 AM

What other Vonnegut have you read?

asdf 08-15-2006 02:26 AM
What other Vonnegut have you read?
Lets see. Breakfast of champions, cat's cradle, slaughterhouse 5, player piano, galapagos, bluebeard, and god bless you mr. rosewater. I think that's it.

Anxious 08-15-2006 02:33 AM

God bless you please Mrs. Robinson, Jesus loves you more than you can know.

asdf 08-15-2006 02:34 AM

Anxious 08-15-2006 02:36 AM

I've had that song stuck in my head on and off since I was at least 7. It comes and goes.

Anxious 08-15-2006 02:47 AM

I know talent when I see it.

Pennywise and The Circle Jerks are coming to Philly. Is 18 bux not worth it? I've seen Pennywise before and they did play a fun live set. So would you go?

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 08-15-2006 12:20 PM

I would go just for circle jerks. probably.

AIRIC 08-15-2006 12:28 PM

Pennywise sucks but how are you gonna miss the Circle Jerks?
