Guys. I fell off my bike a few weeks ago and smacked my face off the ground thus making my glasses horribly crooked. Because of this I've been forced to wear my contacts but I discovered how smashingly good looking I am without glasses. My confidence is this high now!!

Fall of your bikes you ugly mother f'uckers!!!
Tell me that when you get that shit stuck above your eyelid. I've seen it happen before...its not fun. But I'd risk it for looking smashing.

AIRIC 08-15-2006 01:00 AM

Dude that happens to me almost every night in my left eye. When they start to dry out and stuff and I have to rub them the left one always goes up and behind my eye. It sucks getting it out.

Anxious 08-15-2006 01:04 AM

So today at work I was playing this bitchin game called Guitar Freaks. Its like DDR but with a guitar. My goal is to become pro at it.

AIRIC 08-15-2006 01:13 AM

I play this game Guitar Hero at my friends house all the time. My favorite song to play is Iron Man. Such a sweet game.

asdf 08-15-2006 01:15 AM

Guitar Hero. I feel just as horrified about it as I did about DDR.

And I'm still horrified by DDR. However, I swore I'd never try it, and I did :(

Anxious 08-15-2006 01:15 AM

Guitar hero is just the PS2 version of it. But on the arcade one, it doesn't have official songs. I wish it did.
And I'm still horrified by DDR. However, I swore I'd never try it, and I did
I'm the only one at work who isn't into it. I feel like a dumbass on it.

EDIT: In other news, this: http://english.pravda.ru/hotspots/conflicts/83898-0/

is scaring the hell out of me.

AIRIC 08-15-2006 01:19 AM

Yeah DDR is stupid. Guitar Hero is a great game though. So much fun.

Do you have Area 51 at your arcade?

Anxious 08-15-2006 01:21 AM

Nope. Tons of crappy shooters though.

Examples: A shooter where you are in a circus killing demented clows. (wtf)

One where you shoot dinosaurs

One where you play as an obvious rip off of Laura Croft

etc

asdf 08-15-2006 01:23 AM

I'm jealous. I really want to work and an arcade. I've been thinking about if I were older, and had much more money, I would start an arcade in my town. I know just the location and all that.

AIRIC 08-15-2006 01:25 AM

One thing that my town needs is an arcade. One time my friend Emily and I were hanging out and we walked town from one end to the other searching for an arcade and there isn't one. That would be a great thing to start if I were older but I'm kind of afraid it would turn into a place for kids to just loiter and misbehave and I wouldn't want that to happen.

Anxious 08-15-2006 01:27 AM
loiter
Hah. I love that word

I'm lucky I have a friend who got me the job, I've had some of the funnest times of my life there.

Every town should have an arcade.

AIRIC 08-15-2006 01:28 AM

Yeah work is so much fun. Even if the job isn't enjoyable it's fun. I've definintely had some of the best times at work.

Anxious 08-15-2006 01:28 AM

Where do you work?

asdf 08-15-2006 01:29 AM

See, where I would put my arcade is across the street from where people already loiter all the time. The famous hotdog place that everyone goes to would be across the street (which gets a ton of visitors every day), as well as a coffee house that all the trendies go to. But right in the middle of eastown is also a perfect location for something as nostalgic as an arcade. There used to be an arcade there back in the 70's, and I'd try to bring that sort of feel back.

AIRIC 08-15-2006 01:31 AM

I work at a steakhouse called the Market Place. It's a great place to work. Extremely laid back and informal because it's family run place in a small tourist town where everyone knows everyone.

Sounds like a plan to me. I don't have any advice to offer, I'm a lousy buisnessman.

Sounds cool. Informal joints are the best to work at obviously, I can't imagine what its like working at a chain.

asdf 08-15-2006 01:33 AM

I wish I had a job I enjoyed. I really wanted to work at this bicycle repair place in town, but they haven't hired in 15 years.

I'm guessing its a family business? Either that or they've got some damn loyal employees.

Very small buisness with a couple very loyal employees.

AIRIC 08-15-2006 01:42 AM

My uncle was going to get me a job at this great used record shop he works at called Last Vestige. Unfortunately since they stay open till midnight on weekends they don't hire until 18. Really sucks I would've loved that job this year.

Anxious 08-15-2006 01:43 AM

Tough break.

to both of you

Man, I really want to work at a record store, but the one only a few blocks from me is being sold, and the one downtown (which is much better) is on the verge of going out of buisness. It sucks.

Anxious 08-15-2006 01:51 AM

Thats pretty much everyone who is here's dream job.

asdf 08-15-2006 01:52 AM

That's true.

AIRIC 08-15-2006 01:53 AM

Yeah. Either that or getting paid to post on MX or download music or something.

I have a feeling that when I get older I'm going to want to pull an Office Space.

Anyone seen Grandma's Boy yet? That would be a fantastic job.

Anxious 08-15-2006 01:54 AM

And well justified.

Unrelatedly, I don't feel like going to sleep. I think I may stay awake to read Catch 22, which just came in the mail. Once mx stops amusing me.
I have a feeling that when I get older I'm going to want to pull an Office Space.
Don't forget to put the decimal in the right spot.

asdf 08-15-2006 01:56 AM

I've been up for the past hour or so having basically a competition of who can be more angsty with one of my friends. I think for the first time ever, I won.
I've been up for the past hour or so having basically a competition of who can be more angsty with one of my friends. I think for the first time ever, I won.
Did it involve writing some type of lyrics to a song?

AIRIC 08-15-2006 01:57 AM

Yeah I probably won't go to sleep for a few hours at least.

Catch 22 was an excellent read. I'm going to read it again in a few months I think. Right now I'm reading a book called The Lovely Bones. It's a required summer reading book that I was really dreading but I'm 3 quarters through it now and it's fantastic. I'm really happy this wasn't boring as hell.

Asdf: Why didn't you like Breakfast of Champions? Joe (sketchy) said it was his favorite from Vonnegut.

Anxious 08-15-2006 01:58 AM

Catch 22 is required reading, but I've always wanted to read it.

Vonnegut is fucking weird.
