Right now I'm in my "do as little as possible" phase. I'm usually in it until just over halfway through the semester, then I work non-stop at the end and come through in the clutch. I guess I like the pressure, but I cannot do jack **** early.

Like this speech I still haven't started working on. I've known about it for 3 weeks, and I have 5 days left and I haven't started. Same with my 20 minute presentation for political science: known about it for two months, have one week left and haven't started. Then I'll get extremely stressed and work way too much on it, and get an A.
I'm sort of the opposite, I work really hard in the beginning (like 2 weeks) and by the end I am really halfassing and clutching desperately to the A.

gmoneyguy 10-11-2007 10:37 AM

Unfortunately I am halfassing all the time, when it come to school.

I dunno what I am going to do for lunch.

Permanent Solution 10-11-2007 10:41 AM

I get worse about it each year. Freshman year I was really on top of it for a month or two. This semester I think I was behind by week 2 or 3.

This will be bad when I get to grad school.

TojesDolan 10-11-2007 10:43 AM

I half as‪sed a lot in analog circuits. :(

gmoneyguy 10-11-2007 10:44 AM

Lucky for me Architecture doesn't really have a grad school

And I'm the opposite of this. I was bad freshman year, and was way better last year.

Really?

I thought everything had a grad school because undergrad degrees are almost worthless nowadays =\

edit2pate: well I mean that's my perception but my actual GPA is up more from Freshman year...sorta.

gmoneyguy 10-11-2007 10:49 AM

Architecture is a 5 year program in school. After you graduate from Uni you have to complete 3 years of apprenticeship, and after that you go take board exam. if you pass you get your license.

What sucks is I should be working on my third year, but I was originally studying music for the first year and a half. So basically I am a sophomore all over again.

TojesDolan 10-11-2007 10:50 AM

Grades are a bad standard to measure ones understanding of subjects.

gmoneyguy 10-11-2007 10:53 AM
Grades are a bad standard to measure ones understanding of subjects.
I agree. I understand almost everything I have taken. I just chose not do much work for the class.

Depends on the class. Usually, yes.

edit2pate: well I mean that's my perception but my actual GPA is up more from Freshman year...sorta.
Well, both my amount of hard work and my grades are up from freshman year.

TojesDolan 10-11-2007 11:00 AM

Depends on the person, too. But most people who have good grades understand things, i don't know.

Although say, in most careers like law school or other theoretical sciences, it's least frequent to find people who understand subjects, and rather memorize things.

the2stranger 10-11-2007 11:02 AM

My internet is functioning again after two days or so.
I was quite bored without the internetz :(

What's happening all?
New Nadja is growing on me big time. :D

I dunno about most. Some do.

But considering the number of people I know with GPAs in my range + or -, I wouldn't say most.

the2stranger 10-11-2007 11:51 AM

yum yum at Tojes avatar.

Shattered_Future 10-11-2007 11:54 AM

Yeah, Tojes, who's in your avatar?

TojesDolan 10-11-2007 12:05 PM

I don't know, random tinypic female.

Tyler 10-11-2007 12:09 PM

Tojes you're creepy. You're cool, but having random bitties in your display is weird.

I'm in class, I was supposed to have an interview done for today so I could write up an article, but well, I didn't bother, nor am I going to. I'm behind as it is, and this is apparently not for any marks, so instead I'm sort of studying and sort of chit chatting online lol.

Darkness 10-11-2007 12:10 PM

Imagine if that girl was another user.

the2stranger 10-11-2007 12:18 PM

Then she wouldn't be safe anymore on MX. :p

np: Nadja -Radiance Of Shadows

Tyler 10-11-2007 12:19 PM

Imagine if she was really 14?

I mean she probably is but like...imagine...

the2stranger 10-11-2007 12:22 PM

Let their be dignity, 14 is too young.
Statuatory ape ftl.
I'll stick with girls of about my age.

Darkness 10-11-2007 12:27 PM
Agreed. I'm 17 and going any lower then 16 is out of the question for me. I don't mind girls a bit older though.

the2stranger 10-11-2007 12:30 PM

I'm 21, my gf is 19, turning 20 in februari.
So yeah, I actually gave it some thought if she wasn't too young for me.
Oh well, we're approaching our 2 year anniversary, 6 more days. :)

Tyler 10-11-2007 12:32 PM

I'm cool as long as they're over 18 and arent secretly dudes.

the2stranger 10-11-2007 12:34 PM
I'm cool as long as they're over 18 and arent secretly dudes.
That would be pretty bad though.

woot, tomorrow a few hours of placement and then weekend.
I think I'll go and buy some DVDs and have some beers with a friend whom I haven't seen for a long long time.
Any of you got plans for the weekend?

Joe McCarthy 10-11-2007 12:35 PM

The girl I'm into and slowly starting to date and I are both twenty. She's about three months younger than I am, though.

And (back on that subject) school is really terrible this semester. I'm really thinking of withdrawing from one of my classes. Funny thing, though -- It feels like ever semester sucks more than the previous, but my GPA has been slowly increasing. I don't think that is happening this semester, though.

TojesDolan 10-11-2007 12:37 PM

Nah, I don't think she's too young.

Nonetheless, I like having pictures of pretty ladies. Because they are pretty. :(

Anyway, here are my last week achievements:

1st draft of 4-bit adder circuit (unfunctional):
http://i23.tinypic.com/2qak8au.jpg

2nd draft of 4-bit adder circuit (functional and tested ):

http://i24.tinypic.com/110g4sy.jpg

I sahre this because no one will care but I had to do something with the images. :(

Picture I took in the morning on my way to uni:

:)

That's a pretty picture. Disregarding the taxi cab.

Joe McCarthy 10-11-2007 12:39 PM

I really wish now I'd studied some sort of electrical or mechanical engineering instead of something useless like history now.

gmoneyguy 10-11-2007 01:19 PM

I go with the half your age plus seven rule

Eliminator 10-11-2007 01:20 PM

lol gurlz

TojesDolan 10-11-2007 01:20 PM

That's a good rule. 17 year olds are sexy.

And naughty.

Very naughty.

Joe McCarthy 10-11-2007 01:22 PM

Seventeen is still illegal here as far as I know.

i am the robots 10-11-2007 01:41 PM

That was awesome. I actually know a few people quite like that.

I wish I had that haircut.

i am the robots 10-11-2007 01:52 PM

Yeah, then you could get pussy.

Man I need that haircut, I wanna get pussy.

TojesDolan 10-11-2007 01:52 PM

I don't have a haircut and I get pu‪ssy. :(
