Name one good reason to like Belgians besides waffles...

(Seeing a statue of a pissing man doesn't do it for me heh)
Yeah, everyone's always on my back.

You can't hate a country who has this statue in their capital :

And yes, manneke pis means what you think it means.

Is it hot in here, or is it just that statue?

Technically, they DID invent French Fries.

They win.
A Subaru Legacy?

Isn't that an SUV? Or am I making assumptions based on the fact that it's a Subaru?
It's the Subaru that the whole world has. It's a station wagon.
Second and third generation Celicas = awesome cars.

Plus mine is a limited edition, not many of them were made, around 500 of them were made from my understanding.
Nice. You should sell it and get a better car.

Or you should pimp it out. :thumb:

Why would I ever want to sell it? heh.

I got the car in mint condition for 750 dollars, I am keeping it and plan on keeping it in nice condition since I like Celica's alot. Might drop a new engine and turbo charger in it in the future as well...

Plus, no car payments = sweet.

All the money I save from no car payments can go to a really nice car in the future as well, like a Suburau WRX or Mitsubishi Lancer Evo...

Dancin' Man 06-05-2005 03:45 PM

The Subaru WRX would be tight. But, if you are going to buy a fast car, it must be manual because you look like a 'tard driving around a car with a big engine and turbo and such if the car is doing all the work. It is also a good way to prevent your friends from wanting to drive your car.

Manual ++

In other news, I am eating waffles. The really bad kind you keep in the freezer and toast when you want them. Do they serve them that way at home Jelle?

We also invented the Saxophone.

How do the Belgians pronounce their country's name? I know it wouldn't be BELL-jum because nobody uses the "j" sound in Europe except the English.

I got a sweet car for $100 bucks, not anywhere near mint but I'll fix it up. It's a 1969 Mach 1.
How do the Belgians pronounce their country's name? I know it wouldn't be BELL-jum because nobody uses the "j" sound in Europe except the English.
Hard to explain, we don't call it Belgium. The Flemish call it 'België'; which is hard to write phonetically for you, because English doesn't have that G sound. It sounds a bit like a Spanish J (not an American Spanish J as in Hesus, but a genuine one) So it would be like Bel -~J~ee-uh.

The walloons say Belgique. I don't know if you know a bit of french but that would be something like Bel-jeek.

And the German part (small part only, has to do with the world war) would say Belgien. But yeah, who cares about them German Belgians, they don't even have their own name. :)
You do good chocolate too.
That's true!

YDload 06-05-2005 04:59 PM

Oh okay. You mean that "J" sound like "zh" in "measure?"

Well yeah, I thought you might be talking about just native speakers, from your angle that even if you learn the language as a second language, you probably still suck at the pronunciation :)

My three last-year German teachers all said my accent/pronunciation were good, though, and one of them was German.

Wow.

Just...wow.

Well, so today I think I said earlier that my mom took my girlfriend out for a "one-on-one". Well, I was afraid at first because I didn't know how it would turn out.

Apparently, it went well.

My mom took my girlfriend out into Boston and they went around the city for a little bit and probably swapped embarrassing stories about me. That's what women do. Anyhow, they went out to dinner.

And then my mom bought a case of beer anmd they drank in the parking lot of a convenience store.

So yes, my mom and my girlfriend both got drunk.
