well this is tricky because the sher real books are generally more informative and easy to interpret, with rhythm slashes and the odd bassline, but they're less commonly used and quite often have different changes from the hal leonard ones, which makes them a bit of a risk if you take them to a jazz session.

the hal leonard ones are greatly simplified but a bit of an industry standard.

I think I'd go with the Sher one as they contain invaluable information about form and texture that you don't get in the hal leonard ones, and if you turn up to a gig where they're playing from the hal leonard ones you can just peer over shoulders.

Usually the changes are just substituted between the two books rather than entirely different functionally.

Ok thanks a lot for the help/patience mate.
One last thing though, there's so many different Sher real books, I guess I'm best getting the one I linked you to? I.e. the first volume.

I went out Friday afternoon, drank some srs beer and spent the night at a friends place where we kept drinking until 5 am or something, then I woke up at 8 to go to work on saturday, got out at 1 pm and started to watch the football matches with my dad and some beers, then I got dressed up as Carles Puyol and went out to party. That was around 7 - 8 pm, I kept partying until 2 pm on sunday, then came back home, took a shower, went out to have lunch with my parents and finally returned home to sleep around 4 pm. My last post is from today, sunday at 1 am... I'm going to work now, I feel like shit lod.
