Yeah I hear ya Ben, I had my doubts when I got mine. If I were you, I'd try and find an Epifani Quest II that should be less than $600 and you just couple that with a power amp that meets your requirements. Or you could buy the UL502, I don't know about used pricing on that though.
What's the Epifani Quest II? I'm assuming it's a preamp?

The Brad 11-09-2006 10:26 PM

Yeah it's the preamp section to the 502 and 902 series amps, they had a fairly short run. They weren't cost effective for Epifani to make or something and then just before I bought my DB an online retailer Music123 maybe? did a close out on them for like $500 a piece, needless to say by the time I got enough money to order one they were gone...
But that's alright because I was kind of tired of the pre/power rack thing by that point.

BenJammin 11-09-2006 10:28 PM

Yeah... really, what's the advantage of going pre/power instead of just a head?

Pluperfect_Arson 11-09-2006 10:31 PM
I didn't see it, but there was an article about it on SMN with a video interview before and after it happened. Just kind of funny, although it sucks to be him.
Yeah, I just watched that video. That guy is, officially, a trooper. :p

The Brad 11-09-2006 10:32 PM

Well, it would weigh a hell of a lot less than a DB750. :p
With the power section you can select the ohms and watts, there are other advantages that I am not thinking of because I am braindead at the moment.

Did you see the Fear Before Tourettes guy episode?

Gotcha.

I think I'll stick to my head, thanks. If I can't find a cheap Epifani head later, I'll probably just upgrade to a better GK head, since I'm very happy with the tone I'm getting right now.

The Brad 11-09-2006 10:39 PM

I hear ya, before I bought the Epifani, I was really look at the GK 800 RB mainly because of Troy Sanders and because I couldn't afford a Marshall Super Bass 100 like Lemmy. -_-

One Groovin Clown 11-09-2006 10:42 PM

Brad, are you ever going to get back to bass?

BenJammin 11-09-2006 10:42 PM

After I get my custom, do you think I'll be officially cool enough to fit in at TB?

No, because you won't have two customs.

/rimshot

The Brad 11-09-2006 10:48 PM

After college or when I have some form of income, it is a maybe. If I were to move to Texas it would probably be a yes.

I cannot really see into the future, but I just don't have time for it currently and my mom needs money.

Spaceman Spiff 11-09-2006 10:48 PM

At least I know the whole Spider-Man theme song.

I mean...
Well, I do like it. I guess that's all that counts.
Exactly. I like the Ibanez, but it doesn't totally meet what I need from a bass right now.

I enjoyed their stuff. But I've always been a sucker for female vocalists.
You might as well give it a shot. They seem to be on the rise too.

Go for it. :thumb:

I've been trying to log on for nearly two days now. ITS THE NETWORK LAWL.

In other news, once I sell the ibanez Ill have about $1100 in my stash for a new bass and guitar.

That's a bummer man.

I just quit one of my bands recently. It wasn't what i wanted. Very guitar driven. I had no say in any composition of the songs.

Doesn't matter though, my main band is currently in the midst of writing a whole bunch of new music. Most productive we've ever been. 3 piece bands are the best.

Woohoo, 700 posts.

sixner 11-09-2006 11:59 PM

my band just fell apart a few days ago... im pretty upset, it had real potential. our fan base was rediculous....

:upset:

but atleast it got my name out in the local scene... ive been able to talk to alot of the bigger bands around here and get advice as to what to do now....

i have 4 band offers in 3 days :thumb:
