The Living End rock it out.
But anyway, I've always wondered why you guys don't fall of the globe? I mean, since you live on the underside of the earth and all, logically you would fall off. But you don't. What's up with that? |

I heard that on days with low gravity, erections are wide-spread. |

So anyways I saw Bloc Party and they were pretty darn good. Better than they were at Reading. Great long set :thumb:
As for the support band Chromeo, I don't think I've laughed and been entertained that much since I saw GLC. Chromeo = Michael Jackson crossed with rock basically. Chromeo is a 3-piece: One 'pretty fly for a white guy' on guitar (a flying-V he uses might I add) and occassional vocals, secondly basically a great drummer, typical experienced session drummer, used electronic pads etc..toight as toiger. But then lastly on keys, occasional bass and vocals (but the vocals always had that weird effect on them, like vox guitar but without the guitar, I dunno) was this guy who looked like a suave rapper basically who, using his vocal effects, sunbg like a mutha****a! Great, hilarious and ingenious with songs like 'Meaty Girl'. Check them out! |
I've heard of Chromeo before. Can't think where, though.

Errrm Friday saw loads of my old mates that I haven't seen or in some cases not even talked to in months. Then Saturday had coffee with another old friend, then saw Bloc Party! woo! :thumb: |

hm. BRIGHT EYES! BRIGHT EYES! BRIGHT EYES!!!! |
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I went up to a cabin on Lake Burton with my lady and we had lotsa fun. We also listened to I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning by Bright Eyes a lot. We really did. I'm not just fucking with Zmev. |
hm.
BRIGHT EYES! BRIGHT EYES! BRIGHT EYES!!!!
I seriously don't see why Bright Eyes have all this hype and are supposedly one of the best bands ever or of our era, everyone is creaming themselves over their cds and seeing them live (e.g. a few friends of mine) and I have heard the cds and I basically think 'meh'! |
I'm not tremendously keen on them, to be honest.
|
Who the hell are Bright Eyes anyway?
|
Actually, I loved Wide Awake and Digital Ash so much, and I went back and listened to Lifted and Fevers and Mirrors and all the earlier stuff that's supposed to be so much better and all I heard was trite, maudlin, gag-me-with-a-spoon emo crap. The two new records, Wide Awake in particular, deserve all the acclaim they got, but the rest? Forget it.

That's pretty much what's always said about the new records. I need to check them out. |
Yeah you do. They're nothing alike, really. It's almost like a different band. Digital Ash is all electronic and dark, and Wide Awake is all gorgeous, evocative folkiness. They're both good things, just totally different.

I don't like Bright Eyes that much acutally.
The occasional song, but probably the most uselessly acclaimed band of the '00s. |

I would agree with you up until these new records. Perhaps they don't make up for the over-hype Bright Eyes records have been getting since Lifted, but finally he's done something worthy, and it's REALLY worthy.
