Mines in december, Close to christmas :)

Thor 05-28-2005 08:21 PM

Well I just finished listening to Lateralus for the first time, and what an experience that was. Now I understand why there are so many Tool fanboys out there. I must say that there are some insanely sick riffs in this song, and incredible vocals as well.

My favorite song off of this album has to be Parabola.

So was mine when I first started listening to it then the beauty of the patient came along and usually you can tell who is a fanboy in here but he tool forum is crazily full of them.

Sleeper 05-28-2005 08:47 PM

My favorite song of that album right now is Reflection.

Same here beautiful song.

Reflection is a good song, but it just seems to go on for too long. Songs that go on for over 10 minutes usually cause me to stop paying attention and go to a different track. It still has some great riffs in it.

Faaip De Oaid is really **** weird when you listen to it for the first time.

When you hear the story behind it, it is 12 times scarier I have to listen to that song with one eye open.

My favourite bit in reflection is when he says "The moon tells me a secret"

LedZeppFan83 05-28-2005 09:50 PM

I've Just Started......

- Ive just started getting in to them, but I really like that song "Schism".

Well in my expierence in being a Tool fan. That is there most popular song, and any person that dosent listen to there music will know that song. When i first started listening to tool, I didnt think of it much. But after listening to them for so long i have come to love the song. The guitar solo with the bass in the middle gives me goosebumps.

I dont understand why people would hate someone for being fortunate, they should be happy for that person.

What story? The one about it being a hoax?

Dude3 05-28-2005 10:27 PM
What story? The one about it being a hoax?
Yeah, I guess.
Supposedly, there was this guy who called into a radio station, claiming he was an ex-employee for Area 51. He was saying something about how they had a lot of secrets, they were out to get him, and something about aliens. That kind of fun stuff.

Into the conversation, the whole place just shut off. I'm not exactly sure what part of the radio station went down.
Later, the guy admitted to it being a hoax. But it really makes you wonder. Maybe the government shut the radio station down, and forced the guy to say it was a hoax. Unlikely, but I like to somewhat believe, or at least think about that stuff.

Freaky anyway.

Dried Muffin Remnants 05-28-2005 10:28 PM

It's always fun to believe.

adam jones does have some cool riffs, but if you listen to songs like the grudge and eulogy he almost seems like another rythm section to the band.

if you like lateralus, you MUST pick up Ænima its my favorite album from them...that might be a little biased cause it was the first album i bought from them....but hey, all there albums are different and can fit or soothe the mood you are feeling or living. there a very open band, sound wise...they almost have a song that everyone would like. for me its H. but on lateralus, parabola is my favorite too:thumb:

I really digged Aenema for a long time, But Lateralus to me has the total package to what Tool is capable of.

No, everything within a 15 mile radius was shut down, it wasn't just the radio station.
