Looks like there should be a few good thrash albums released this year from all the old legends.

Yep! Now all they have to do is FUCKING RELEASE THEM! I don't want a rushed album, but I really want to hear all of these comeback albums.

This shall be a great year.

So this year we got new Metallica(Hopefully not Nu) New Exodus, New Dark Angel and now new Nuclear Assualt?
So this year we got new Metallica(Hopefully not Nu) New Exodus, New Dark Angel and now new Nuclear Assualt?
Yep, and I think Heathen is coming out with a new one as well.

RetiredAt21 03-27-2005 08:35 PM

I think Metallica should go back to their thrash roots. That'd be awesome. I think EVERYONE was dissapointed with St. Anger, and for good reason, it was terrible.

ForiegnPenguin 03-27-2005 08:39 PM

Yeah, I doubt they can put out another record like the first four but if they come close I will be happy.

RCA, I am not familiar with Heathen, are they worth buying a cd?

Corporal Compendia 03-27-2005 09:19 PM

^^^
No, because you're not gonna find their CDs anywhere but ebay or gemm or whatever... however, go to http://www.heathenmetal.com ,click on media, and download until your heart is content. Both albums are great.

ForiegnPenguin 03-27-2005 10:24 PM

Thank you.

FatalEnergy 03-27-2005 11:32 PM

Metallica won't do a thrash album, I read an Interview of Lar$ saying that Metallica got all of thier "Extreme Aggressions" out on St. Anger.

1. St. Anger was not Aggressive

2. Metallica will never be Kreator, or be half as good as Kreator, or even come close to touching that ledgendary thrash album

Metallica blows

NP: Sodom - Volcanic Slut

RetiredAt21 03-27-2005 11:44 PM

Kreator is awesome. So is Sodom. And yeah, St. Anger wasn't aggressive at all, if you ask me, it was totally pussified.

Ahh thats it, i knew i added you, but that was before i lost my list on that 155 update.

Mine is Kreator

I wonder how it will sound like though.

Oy, I forgot what Slayer's new album would sound like. Apparently Jeff said something like "Payback", hopefully not the downtuned guitars and lyrics, but more like the energy, speed, and aggression of the song...

That'd be sweet.

FatalEnergy 03-28-2005 01:09 AM

True, I hope Tom isn't as "shouty" as he has been, because obviously by watching the new Slayer DVD he can still almost pull off the Angel of Death scream

NP: Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force - I'll See The Light Tonight

Apocalyptic Raids 03-28-2005 01:17 AM

Meh, im not gonna get excited for the new slayer cause it will probly be similar to GHUA.

SLATANIC-666 03-28-2005 03:20 AM
Meh, im not gonna get excited for the new slayer cause it will probly be similar to GHUA.
As long as Jeff gets a fair share in writng it should have some good moments, but yeah I fear it may just be GHUA mk.II. I think Slayer may be starting to tow the corporate line :upset:

NP: Metallica - Creeping Death

DisposableHeroes 03-28-2005 05:00 AM

I reckon Lombardo will give 'em a kick in the ***

metal-militia 03-28-2005 06:39 AM
So this year we got new Metallica(Hopefully not Nu) New Exodus, New Dark Angel and now new Nuclear Assualt?
Sadus are supposed to release a new album this year.

I think the new Slayer will be a big dissapointment.

ForiegnPenguin 03-28-2005 09:34 AM

Lombardo is one of the only things I really look foward to on the new Slayer.

kirk_wylde 03-28-2005 09:51 AM

Actually I hope the new slayer album sounds more like seasons in the abyss. I quite liked that album actually. I don't follow slayer that religiously (suddenly seems wrong to say that) but I would like to hear more stuff like that album.

On another topic could anyone recomend a good exodus album to me. or for that matter any good thrash albums, I'm not that up to date on thrash really

ForiegnPenguin 03-28-2005 10:04 AM

I would be happy if it sounded like SITA too.
As for the reccomendations I will give you some nessecities of thrash:
Exodus-Bonded By Blood
Dark Angel-Darkness Descends
Megadeth-Rust in Peace
Overkill-Feel the Fire
Coroner-Punishment for Decadence
Kreator-Pleasure to Kill
Vio-lence-Oppressing the Masses
Destruction-All Hell Breaks Loose
Annihilator-Alice in Hell
Sabbat-History of a Time to Come
Iced Earth-Night of te Stormrider
Death Angel-The Ultra-violence
Sodom-Persecution Mania
Sepultura-Schizophrenia
Slayer-Hell Awaits
Possesed-Seven Churches
Testament-The Legacy
Forbidden-Twisted into Form

that should start your thrash collection

kirk_wylde 03-28-2005 10:37 AM

Ok cheers. already have a little foothold..Have a bunch of megadeth albums including rust in peace, and I have a best of testemant. But that looks like a pretty sturdy list so cheers :)

RavenousMetalist87 03-28-2005 10:42 AM

Somehow, I get the feeling it's like all our legends seem to be burning out. However, it might just be the record companies.

You will get what I mean if you own the Destruction DVD, especially right after Schmier and Mike talk about Release From Agony (which definitely sounds shIbbY!) XD

Worst. Spelling. Ever

IMO Slayer were pretty poor after Seasons in the Abyss, but everything before that is solid.

I though Slayer released one good early album. South of Heaven. The rest just don't do it for me

ForiegnPenguin 03-28-2005 12:09 PM

Are you saying that you only like South of Heaven?

CaptainWaits 03-28-2005 12:24 PM

Yes
