sweet, snagged Easy Listening for the Hard of Hearing
will def give it a listen some time this week |
Random recommendation:
"ID" by slowEarth Album: Beautiful Machines |
i'll look into it
I need some more EBM |
vnv nation, assemblage 23
|
this will be done
I may even get another Front 242 album |
The only Front 242 I have besides Front by Front is the No Comment LP, it's pretty good from the one or two times i've listened to it. More dark EBM and less club-dance sounding ****.
|
cool, i'll look into it
did you listen to that Boyd Rice & Frank Tovey release? |
not yet, i'll be sure to remember it when i decide to listen to five or six albums later to prepare for sleep
|
yeah I might chuck some Severed Heads in there over the next couple of nights ;]
|
sweet
it might be time for me to move on to a new severed heads record, i've been listening to the debut lately but how many times can you listen to a fifteen minute sound collage EP |
any of you guys into Menace Ruine? I discovered them a few weeks back, have been playing their three full lengths, all of which range from harsh noise, black metal and drone. really good stuff, particularly The Die is Cast, which sheds the black metal and noise and focuses more on drone, with awesome female vox
|
I can't say i've ever heard of them, I will check them out though
|
im about to post all three of their albums on my blog (well, in a few minutes), if it makes it any easier for you. a simple search will turn up their albums though.
|
excellent
I added Slays For Days as a follower from mine so i'll jump on top of that |
oh nice, i didnt know you had a blog. what is it?
|

I made it a couple of days ago |
excellent. i always mean to explore all the stuff you find, but i never find the time on top of all the other stuff i listen to plus normal life. now that semester is over i'll have more time though.
looking at yours now, looks awesome. i'm always in awe of blogs which provide such lengthy and detailed write-ups, it's not as easy to maintain as some might think. linking it to S4d now. |
Cheers, it's mainly stuff i've reviewed on here previously.

<3 The Die is Cast is really good, I love how watered one the production is on that one! I also have Cult of Ruins, didn't know they had another full length though. I love their artwork so much. Haz: Your blog is shaping quite nicely, I don't have most of the albums you are uploading so I have a lot of work there. :D |
Anyone enjoy Les Joyaux de la Princesse?
|
i've only heard the Östenbräun split with Death In June, I don't remember being all that fond of it. I should listen to it again.

Yeah, that one is actually kind of average.
What I've heard of their other stuff I've really liked though. |
okay. what release should I look into?
I have a few albums you have suggested I have to get to actually |
I really like Aux Volontaires Croix de Sang.
It's newer too. From 2007 I believe. I'm still trying to check more of them out myself. |
I love their work with Blood Axis, but that's about the only thing I have from them.
Cheers, I always have it my mind that you've heard it all for some reason ><
Nah, haha, not even close man. For some reason you guys talk about the things I've heard A LOT in this forum so yeah...actually of the things you listen to I haven't heard probably 70% |
haha ok man

Is neofolk like Rome? I heard a song of theirs and it bored me to anal so I think I might stay away from that. What Foetus should I start off on? edit: nevermind on this one lol I know I don't really like KMFDM or Godflesh so I think I'll stick away from the industrial for now. So I guess I'll look into the weird/noise stuff then! Can you recommend me just a couple from those bottom 2 categories to start off on? Preferably something not too ambient/mellow/slow if you catch my drift? |
Front 242, Throbbing Gristle, Laibach, Einstürzende Neubauten, Chris and Cosey, SPK and Brethren I guess. It should cover a fair cross section of subgenres some of which will be ambient and slow but not entirely.
I haven't heard Rome before. They are european neofolk though idk if it makes a big difference from the british scene. |
it bored me to anal
Pure poetry. |
FatalEnergy, have you heard Ben Frost's Theory of Machines?
You would probably like this one as well Mike if you haven't heard it already |
Nope, I'll look it up it.
What's it like? |
