Tourniquet as in Psycho Surgery? Pathogenic Occular Dissonance!? geez...I haven't heard that name tossed around on MX for years. Especially in this thread!
Haha, yeah. They don't get mentioned much.

Dargon II 07-05-2007 01:13 PM

the only Torniquet I know is that Christian ****, and they're not very good, nor are they death metal.

Squirrel 07-05-2007 01:15 PM

Simple request man, youre better than this Dargon. We all know you are.

Tyler 07-05-2007 02:00 PM
10-15 years ago it was a lot harder to come across really good bands because the internet wasn't in wide use. You had to depend on word of mouth, small little fanzines, trades...things like that and because of the effort put forth, the music was worth a lot more to people. People were a lot more appreciative of it.
Yeah but it's not like anyone in this thread but like, you and Jondur were actually around in that stage. Most of these kids trolling are like, 19, 20 at the oldest.
Simple request man, youre better than this Dargon. We all know you are.
Yeah seriously, aside from a few posts, homeboy seems to be losing his edge.
Should I bring up All Shall Perish here or in Metalcore?
All Shall Perish really isn't metalcore at all, so yeah, here.
Hahahahaha.

:-*

He already had material by the band anyway, so any "damage" you think may have been done to your precious obscure band is non-existant. Get over yourself.
No no no Jono, I didn't discover death metal from a blind buy at a record store and actually realize that I'd like to look into it further... I found out about it through popular magazine's like Guitar World because I'm incapable of forming opinions for myself.

That's why I listen to scene bands like Envy and Ampere. :p
No, don't bring them up at all. They're gay.

Squirrel 07-05-2007 04:47 PM

So, Lord Worm says he got his nickname from a friend. This friend was a magician and they spent their time together smoking snake ribs.

Apart from the utter strangeness of this, has anyone heard of smoking snake ribs before?

i am the robots 07-05-2007 04:48 PM
No, don't bring them up at all. They're gay.
stfu, you're a wannabe metal guru.

Not sure if you noticed it, but All Shall Perish' vocalist is one of the best metal vocalists out there.

FatalEnergy 07-05-2007 04:50 PM

One of the best at sucking like no other. No doubt.

Nostalgia 07-05-2007 04:50 PM

**** off JFAC is better man noob

This.

And no, Squirrel, that's utterly retarded and I haven't heard of it.

Squirrel 07-05-2007 04:54 PM

Alright guys simmer down, someone doesnt like ASP - ask him why and tell him why you think theyre a good band.

Invicta_Veritas 07-05-2007 04:55 PM

We just did. The vocalist is fucking amazing, and the music to me is at least decent.

And the typical response when we ask someone why is "**** **** **** kiddie ****". That's why we don't ask or give a fuck anymore.

Squirrel 07-05-2007 04:57 PM

Come on, more than a line dude :p

You gotta convince him theyre a good band.

Then he should convince you theyre not, with examples, then you learn more and he learns more.

And we're all chill.

Poofy 666 07-05-2007 04:58 PM

My friend really likes them, but then again, he also likes ABRB :-\

I actually have listened to them, they are better than most of the bands playing that style but they still bored me after a few listens :(

Invicta_Veritas 07-05-2007 04:58 PM

People like that don't tend to play by the rules, why should we? It's pointless.

@ Squirrel

I was only mildly impressed with thier first album, but the second effort is amazing. The vocals are top notch, and the drummer is insane. PLus, some of the songs are catchy as hell, like the intro to I believe it's "Wage Slaves", with the cowbell and all in the intro. Correct me if I'm wrong about the song name.

i am the robots 07-05-2007 05:00 PM
One of the best at sucking like no other. No doubt.
No, no, seriously. This is like my area of expertise, and it's safe to say you have no clue what you're talking about. The man's range and technique are incredible.
**** off JFAC is better man noob
I know this is a bad joke, but I pretty much agree. Johnny Davy is another really talented vocalist.

Squirrel 07-05-2007 05:00 PM

Well maybe if you do, then he will.

Or you can have the satisfaction that you took the moral high ground :)

This inst a competition about trading points off each other; we're meant to be discussing a genre that we all like.

They pwn ABRB.

Poofy 666 07-05-2007 05:01 PM

so does a narcoleptic retard with one arm. not that big a feat.

Invicta_Veritas 07-05-2007 05:01 PM

Matt, is that the right song?

refer to my last post...

and, by the title of that thread, the genre is death metal. ASP and JFAC are not death metal. I am getting really fvkking tired of this retarded clueless kiddie ****.

You can have as much range and good technique as you want. If your band sucks, who cares?

Let it be man let it be, it aint the end of the world.

What band would you like to discuss?

TojesDolan 07-05-2007 05:04 PM

People, this thread was created to mock people's taste and see who knows the grimest, most senseless band in the world, with absolutely no cohesiveness musically, and of course, a lot of grunting.

Like Wormed.

They are, though. It may be a stretch in your mind, but they still are included in the genre.

You fucking slay me, man.

FatalEnergy 07-05-2007 05:06 PM

I must be the only one to actually 100% agree with dargon. This "core" crap in the DM thread is a bit ridiculous.

Squirrel 07-05-2007 05:07 PM

Bring up a new topic, then.

Invicta_Veritas 07-05-2007 05:08 PM
I must be the only one to actually 100% agree with dargon. This "core" crap in the DM thread is a bit ridiculous.
It's not "-core", though, but whatever.

Squirrel 07-05-2007 05:09 PM

Well, they do have breakdowns breaking down breakdowns so there is some form of core in there yeah.

They mix it up with other elements but like it was said earlier, so do JFAC yet theyre not really DM, tbh.

Dargon II 07-05-2007 05:10 PM
People, this thread was created to mock people's taste and see who knows the grimest, most senseless band in the world, with absolutely no cohesiveness musically, and of course, a lot of grunting.

wormed is wiggercore

I'd honestly rather talk about SlipkNile, Kannibal Klown, or Phat Phetuz than emocore like JFAC. But I've had enough non-elite turdburgling for now. **** off kids, I'm going to hail elite **** now.

Squirrel 07-05-2007 05:10 PM

K later Dargon.

Invicta_Veritas 07-05-2007 05:12 PM

Breakdowns don't define genres though. This is an age old debate; we just got done with it in the metalcore thread. Just because something has breakdowns doesn't mean it has "core" anything in it. Breakdowns are prevailant in all subgenres of metal.

Squirrel 07-05-2007 05:13 PM

This is true, but it is a large focus of their song writing and structure is it not?

TojesDolan 07-05-2007 05:15 PM

Dismember lol

Invicta_Veritas 07-05-2007 05:18 PM

Does something have to have gravity blasting to be death metal? Because that's the only DM quality they miss most of the time.

All I'm saying is they are still death metal because that's most prevailant in thier songs. Any band is going to have influences that occassionally show through from different genres; that's what makes good music. But if we go that route, we start needlessly excluding tons of bands from thier accepted genre because they do something that doesn't fit in the extremely narrow mold we have created for the genre.

Then, we are left with but a few bands still classified in the genre that all sound the same because they all have the exact same characteristics, and everybody gets bored and nobody likes the genre anymore.

Poofy 666 07-05-2007 05:18 PM

Dismember is good. Skin Her Alive is so much fun to play.

And we already discussed this a few pages back...

I'm learning Override of the Overture right now. :) I'm only like 4 riffs in though.
