I see the point, but you're still an idiot for even thinking your music [I]could[/I] be called that. Like I said, just because you have gay symphonic interludes does not make you 'symphonic'. Just because you have tremolo riffs does not make you 'blackened'. Just because you have blast beats does not make you 'grinded'. You fail to realize that just throwing random bits and pieces of different genres does not make you that kind of music. And if your music has all of that **** tossed into it, there's no way the result could be considered death metal. That's what I said in the first place.

I didn't say that having x makes it x genre. My point was almost the same as yours, dude, I just was going in a different direction with it. I was simply saying that a lot of bands have so many different influences and small characteristics derived from those influences that it's hard to pinpoint a genre specifically. My overall point to the topic at hand was that sometimes it's just easier to blanket a term on a band, rather than sit and argue over what specific genre or subgenre it is based on the "bits of this and bits of that" it has in it... We aren't really thinking that differently....


But, I still fail to see how it's not death metal. The overall sound is still characteristic of at least some form of death metal, having those characteristics. Unless you just want to call it "experimental metal", but it's not really because the sound is pretty straightforward (and not wierd, like unexpect).

Integrity pwns so hard. I need to find albums of theirs, because they are just cool.

sloppy songwriting too. songs all over the place.

They're pretty much the worst songwriters in the world. There's no sense of cohesion at all through the songs and they pretty much just randomly switch around with the riffs. They have a bunch of really killer riffs though, namely in Pray For Plagues, Black And Blue, and Off The Heezay. Incidentally, those are their only songs worth a ****.

For Stevie Wonder's Eyes Only, Medusa, and A Lot Like Vegas would be my personal favorites...

Regardless, who wants some Overcast and Aftershock albums?

A Lot Like Vegas has a pretty cool solo. Stevie Wonder has that one cool riff and a pretty cool breakdwon, but as a whole it's not very good. And Medusa is just awful I can't sit through that whole song.

So I put it back and got a System Of A Down shirt for $4.99 instead. Then I wrote to the high ups of Hot Topic that they need more Converge shirts and Locust shirts. I hate Hot Topic.

as far as i know, a break down is section where the band slows down and that where a singer would lead a chant or mosh or sumfink.
