I was stocking a bottle of liqour at work the other day, it was called "Toasted Head" and the picture on the cover was a bear puking.

Thats the kind of liquour I want to drink.

Alright, I think I'm going to sell the RP80 and save up for a BP200 and then a synth pedal.

Ladies and Gentlemen, give him a big round of applause.

He has been a great sport about this whole thing.

Good to see you enjoying fretless.

Hows you intonation coming along?

Jody LeCompte 09-30-2006 12:52 PM

Well, I didn't find my chromatic tuner until last night but as far as I can tell I'm almost perfectly intonated up til the 9th fret. It's a slow process, but I think it'll be unbelievably rewarding

I was chatting to Wintermute about it, I find I onlt really use my fretted for slap/pop any more.

Otherwise I prefer fretless. Hence building a nice EUB asd a complement to my regular fretless.

I'm flattered, no really. I just want to thank the crew, they did a great job for me.

Jody LeCompte 09-30-2006 01:00 PM

It all depends on what Im playing...

What I've been doing rather than just running scales on a tuner like most people suggest is writing out a riff on piano and then figuring it out on the fretless bass. That way Im not only training my ear for intonation on the bass, but Im also doing interval training and note-name assosiation

Brad, you know what I get out of that?

Your on drugs.

The Brad 09-30-2006 01:04 PM

I am drug free, the way Nancy Reagan wants me to be.

Sounds like entirly too much work.

But something that should be done. Wish I had that sort of commitment.

Jody LeCompte 09-30-2006 01:06 PM

It is a pain in the arse, but like I said, in my mind if no where else, I'm killing three birds with one stone.

EDIT: The transposing between the two is something I'd do on fretted with composition anyway, come to think of it.

FunkMetalBass 09-30-2006 01:07 PM

Well, last night was rough.

Friend and I were trying out a bunch of different drink recipes....bad idea. He passed out, but I had done too much too quickly, that I continued to get drunk-er.

On the plus side, I did learn a few more little shooters that I like.

Goldschlager Lemondrop - 1 Part Goldschlager, 2 Parts Lemonade (I had 4)
Alabama Slammer - 1 Part Amaretto Almond Liqueur, 1 Part Jack Daniels Whiskey, 1 Part Orange Juice, 1 Part Creme de Noyaux (I had 3)

Then I complimented my night with a couple shots of golds and jager.

Needless to say, I fuucked myself up royally.

Never mix. I know that rule. I just chose to ignore it.

I've given up drinking.

Jimbobntnr 09-30-2006 01:08 PM

I ran scales with guitar pro. There's a repeat setting that increases the tempo each time through.
Well, last night was rough.
haha, you're alive!

Jody LeCompte 09-30-2006 01:09 PM

Well, the nights of playing bass in the absolute dark has my intonation good enough for me to play just about anything I would on a fretted on my fretless and sound good enough to the uneducated ear, but Im working on perfection now.

I give you two weeks max.

Jody LeCompte 09-30-2006 01:10 PM

I cant drink because Im too much of a pansy.

Actually, I have really bad acid reflux and I can't stand to drink even cold water most the time.

Yeah, I am. I was sitting there puking my brains out in the toilet and then managed to get up, get my pillow and a blanket, and passed out on the bathroom floor.

My friend is such a lightweight.

Jody LeCompte 09-30-2006 01:11 PM

That was the first time I've seen you drink enough to inhibit your typing, FMB.

ebe9 09-30-2006 01:14 PM

Right, time for some bass.

Do I break out the fretted and work on something for the slap comp, or do I break out the fretless?

Polyamarous 09-30-2006 01:14 PM

So no Tequila suicides?

Jody LeCompte 09-30-2006 01:15 PM

You get the fretless and learn some Kai.
I give you two weeks max.
I was only going to give myself a week - homecoming is next week.

Jody, everything is always wrong with you. I'm sorry. You should probably just give up bass and all of your worldly posessions to me. You'll feel much better about yourself.

Kai?

Jody LeCompte 09-30-2006 01:17 PM

FMB: Heres the part where you just admit I have good gear :p

Its my wretched mothers fault. The only thing wrong with my dad is he plays a cheap guitar. Shes the one with all the health problems
That was the first time I've seen you drink enough to inhibit your typing, FMB.
Yeah. Last time I was drunk at my drummers house, but I had just lost my dexterity. I knew I wasn't typing correctly, but I couldn't fix my typos. Instead I made them worse, so I just left the mispellings.

Last night, I had no idea what I was typing. I also apparently made 3 or 4 phone calls to some people. I should probably talk to them today and find out what I said.

Thonk 09-30-2006 01:24 PM

That just made me want a fretless even more.

Blaghhh. Why can't that be a 6'er?

FunkMetalBass 09-30-2006 01:30 PM
So no Tequila suicides?
Nah. Parents don't stock tequila at my house.

Otherwise that would have been on my menu.

you were sending out bulletins like no one's business, too. Am I the only one that reads those things?

Spaceman Spiff 09-30-2006 01:45 PM

I hope that my sisters aren't home tonight. I just want to get so messed up, stoned and drunk, but it's difficult to get drunk when they're here because I need to take their dad's liquor... which I don't even think would be a problem (they wouldn't tell him), but it's still weird... unless I take some now while I'm home alone for use later tonight.

I'm a genius.

PaulSimonon 09-30-2006 01:51 PM

Hey guys.

Efrim 09-30-2006 01:53 PM

I got drunk, and had the most depressing threesome in the world last night.
