I don't have it, but I will now get it. That's a good track listing. From the ones I recognize, at least.

It's an unbeliveable set list Some of the strongest instrumentals recorded in history (personal favourites include: Interstellar overdrive, careful with that axe eugene, paintbox, cirrus minor etc) This was, after all my first Pink Floyd album, it's close to my heart, every track is a bloody gem. |
Anyone got "Relics" ?
It's like a best of, but with work with only Sid. tracks: #1:arnold layne. #2:Interstellar Overdrive(awesome) #3:see emily play #4:remember a day #5: paintbox #6:julia dream #7:careful with that axe eugene #8:cirrus minor #9:the nile song #10:biding my time (extremely rare, or so I've been told) #11:bike. anyone who's got it, what do you think? I think it's pretty awesome.
If it's on an album, it isn't rare. But yah, I know what you mean. What about The Final Cut? Is it any good? I've heard maybe a couple songs. I'm not a huge fan of Roger Waters past the Wall, but I'm curious. |

Plus, waters was becoming a control freak by that point, I wouldn't get it. |
Tr00f, buying Echoes would be a terrible idea. Buying each CD is more worth it. Most of them having a main concept, which would be messed up on a greatest hits CD.

Also, I am morally opposed to buying Echoes. I just don't like the idea of a Pink Floyd Greatest Hits. The albums are too much about the mood they make.
That's the greatest hits cd I was talking about, guitrguy. And those are the same reasons I wouldn't buy it. Careful With That Axe Eugene is one of my favorite Floyd songs ever, but I've only heard it on Ummagumma. I wonder what the Relics one sounds like. |

It's got a couple good songs, but very weak compared to the four albums preceding it (DSOTM, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall) |

I don't like pre-wall waters. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that i completely dislike "When The Tigers Broke Free" *edit: stuff after the wall, i dont really know the word for it though :( |

Edited,
i dont know the word that describes "After" something though :( |
Edited,

Normally albums with 5 songs about 10 minutes on average (Animals and WYWH) are really crappy. But pink floyd makes them good because listening to their albums is an experience.

i dont know the word that describes "After" something though :(
Ahh, I got ya. I agree, I don't like much after The Wall. |

i like "when the tigers broke free," but is just isn't like other floyd, it doesn't even compare to the earlier stuff, but it is still good
|
man i love comfortably numb. such an eerie song.
I have it. :upset:
I got a more complex one then that, but yeah I basically have it too :upset: |
Not that many kids have that Dark Side shirt around me, so I could wear it and not be a poser.

i dont see how it makes you a poser if you like the band |

In a lot of places kids who barely know anything about Pink Floyd wear the shirts because they think it's cool. Therefore if real fans wear the shirt, they are often considered posers. This is especially true with that Dark Side shirt. |

oh, iv seen 2 people with the DSOTM shirt |
Agreed. I don't like When The Tigers Broke Free. Its boring to me.
The saying "If it aint broke don't fix it" comes to mind, Pink Floyd had a perfect formula for writing perfect rock songs and albums, adding ochestrated parts is not going to do anything for seasoned fans. |
I have a DSOTM shirt. But its different from the ones everybody has from Hot Topic or whatever. Which translates to me = awesome.
|
*Has an Animals shirt*
|
/is listening to some of animals and DSOTM randomly
|
What about The Final Cut? Is it any good? I've heard maybe a couple songs. I'm not a huge fan of Roger Waters past the Wall, but I'm curious.
I really like it. It's clearly a step down from The Wall and previous albums but it had some really good tracks. "Post War Dreams", "The Final Cut", "The Gunner's Dream", and "Two Suns in The Sun Set" are all tracks that I feel are worth looking into. I think the rest of the album is decent, deffinately and aquired taste. The Final Cut reissue came out, they added "When The Tigers Broke Free" as a bonus. |

Seriously, DSOTM shirts are teh suck Wish You Were Here, The Wall or Animals for me.
I've got a rad WYWH Tye-dye. Its got the diver on the front and says Pink Floyd, and has Wish You Were Here on the back. It was supposed to have the lyrics to Wish You Were Here on the back, but they messed up the order... :upset: It's still a really cool shirt though. :thumb: |

 http://www.rockabilia.com/bcat.asp?flt=809&cat=121 It's the last shirt, the one with the diver. That's not exactly the same as mine, as the colors are slightly different and it doesn't have all the lyrics on the back, but it's really similar. |
My cousin has a tye dye WWYWH shirt but I think it has a lady in the water or something.

Heh. Sorry.
Out of curiousity, what's everyones favorite Pink Floyd song purely in terms of lyrics? It changes all the time for me, but right now its probably Us and Them or Echoes. And, of course, WYWH is always at or near the top of the list. |

As would I. Those shirts at that site are kickass, but really expensive. :( |
