If you buy the DVD of S&M u have the option to listen to the concert without the orchestra (and if you desperately wanted to without Metallica)
no ****? i didnt know that! how do u turn them off? |
I don't wanna be argueing with you, but have you listened to the drumming in Dyer's Eye :amaze:
as a good drummer i can definitely tell u AJFA is pretty easy to do drums. Disposable heroes is harder, and thats not very hard. The hardest drum song is Battery, the double bass is crazy n its exteremly sincopated on the fills. What do other drummers think is the hardest song |
Bumping is good
|
If my drummers whinings are anything to go by then i can agree with ZildjianDummer that battery is very hard to play. I think the easiest Metallica song on the drums is "For Whom The Bell Tolls". Even I can play that, and I suck pretty bad.
|
no ****? i didnt know that!
how do u turn them off?
Soz I don't know how It just said on the back of the DVD (I bought cunning stunts instead though, It was cheaper. Oh and if anyone wants to go to the earls court concerts Ticketmaster.co.uk bought a load up and released them on wednesday. I'm going yay |
Battery is murder when you try to play it like it is on MoP, cymbal hit here, cymbal hit there... the double bass part is one of the easy parts of the song.
|
I wanna congratulate rides success in making this thread! :chug:

I'm going standing, if you were hXc like me you would have bought your tickets on the first day of the pre-sale... |
with all the fuss bout st. anger not having solos,
did no1 think of no remorse? early stuff, heavy , no solo, ace song |
No Remorse has 2 solos. Every song from Kill 'Em All does, None from St. Anger do.
Metallica Fans like solos. Metallica + No Solos = Gisgruntled Fans. |
^ not to mention Metallicas solos are usually always memorable imo.

And that nothing on St. Anger is memorable. |
And that nothing on St. Anger is memorable.
true. but it's catchy as hell. My lifestyle determines my deathstyle! |
amen
can someone suggest more songs from metallica that are decent besides master of puppets fade to black the one enter sandman the unforgivin i know there is more, those are just the ones im familiar with:)
Those are all really good songs but the songs from the kill em all cd are all really good. I suggest motorbreath or Anestasia if you play bass. |
true. but it's catchy as hell. My lifestyle determines my deathstyle!
thats Frantic ur singing buddy. |
could pantera ever "match" metallica speed wise?
i heard them play the kill em all seek and destroy and it kicked ***. It was almost better than the origanal! |
Yeah. Frantic. Hate the lyrics to that song. In fact the whole album is quite lyrically shallow.
Its funny, Pantalica's there talking about the best bits of Kill 'em all and were talking about St. Anger and really if you played both of them for someone who'd never heard of metal or metallica they wouldnt think it was the same band....... where did it all go wrong....... |
*DIS-gruntled....and Metallica sucks.
i liked metallica's older stuff better than there new (who doesn't?), but my favorite song out of all would be master of puppets.
i like how it goes from there normal stuff in that song, to nice and soft and slow, then to unique solo's i also like enter sandman, its a preety well balanced song. lets try to keep this thread alive
exactly what i think who else is going to see them in earls court on saturday? |
St Anger is not that bad
St Anger is in my opinon a good work of metal... sure it could use a few solos but as Kirk said they really didnt fit... its a new direction to be sure and of cource Master and Lightning are unrepetable masterpieces. Ask Divinci to repain the MonaLisa or something like that it cant be done... We should all accept St Anger for what it is... some good rock and roll... like the guy above said "its catchy as hell". Right. Hey when are we going to find the tour dates for the new US Tour I hope that Metallica does come to NC within the summer if not im going to be pissed.
