For books, Read- A short history of nearly everything. Its reallly good if you like science, and stuff, but don't want the fancy mumbo jumbo. Bill Bryson is a good writer, its like hes telling about all the things, like a story, but you learn.
I like books that cause contiversity for some reason. I also like learning about bands. |
If you want a short book (as in, around 150 pages or so), I'd tell you to read The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom. It's not a religious book at all, but here's the backstory, in case you're interested (courtesy of Amazon.com):
[Preamble: No spoilers, please, if you've read the book.] Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet in Heaven weaves together three stories, all told about the same man: 83-year-old Eddie, the head maintenance person at Ruby Point Amusement Park. As the novel opens, readers are told that Eddie, unsuspecting, is only minutes away from death as he goes about his typical business at the park. Albom then traces Eddie's world through his tragic final moments, his funeral, and the ensuing days as friends clean out his apartment and adjust to life without him. In alternating sections, Albom flashes back to Eddie's birthdays, telling his life story as a kind of progress report over candles and cake each year. And in the third and last thread of the novel, Albom follows Eddie into Heaven, where the maintenance man sequentially encounters five pivotal figures from his life (a la A Christmas Carol). Each person has been waiting for him in Heaven, and, as Albom reveals, each life (and death) was woven into Eddie's own in ways he never suspected. Each soul has a story to tell, a secret to reveal, and a lesson to share. Through them Eddie understands the meaning of his own life even as his arrival brings closure to theirs. The last two paragraphs are why this is one of my favorite books of all time. The five people he meets, and the storys and parables told by Albom, make this book incredibly worthwhile. Go check it out at a library or go buy it at a bookstore, it's cheap. [Postamble: no spoilers, please!] |

You probably like books that spark controversy, becuase your curious as to why(same with me :thumb:), like, "whats the fuss all about".
Jom- I've heard about that book. I Take it its worthwile to read? |
Kissing is easy. Just press your lips against the girl's, and you know what to do from there. =\
It's really so easy once you do it the first time. your first kiss will probably suck. Most people's do. |
does everybody remember if they were scared on there first kiss?
i was for a bit but i got over it.
Oh, I'm sure people have been nervous about their first anything with their boyfriend/girlfriend/partner. First kiss, first date, and any other firsts I've failed to mention. It's in our nature to be. I still get nervous driving to her house or meeting her somewhere, but the butterflies eventually dissipate as soon as I get talking or something.
Jom- I've heard about that book. I Take it its worthwile to read?
Yeah, definitely. You could easily pound through it in a couple days after classes or something when you have some spare time - the chapters/each story are pretty short, and everything is entwined exceptionally well. It's definitely worthwhile. I'm not saying it changes your world, but it impacted me. I've learned from it. |

Thanks Jom! does everybody remember if they were scared on there first kiss? i was for a bit but i got over it.
I remember hearing this- "Are you ever going to close your mouth?" lol :upset: But then I went to camp, where I made out with this chick sooo much, I'm like an expert now. That was pretty awesome.... ~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ *fades to flashback* ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ heh But yeah, the quote was from my first, my neighbore, how i wasn't romantically connected to, which has it bonuses and its dissapointments. The obviouse lack of "first kiss luster". But i learned, so that when it matter'd, I diddnt embarass myself. BUt for anybody who's nervous, my advice, dont worry 'bout it. Then I went away(we had broken up)I had my fun with that girl, and i was sort of involved with her, so it softened it. Now i have no problem making about on the first date. Its just that your friend is shy, and doesn't want to come off as a horny jerk, and "cross the line". Because that's what it was, and is, for me. I have no problem kissing and making out, but i feel wierd doing anything else, becuase I'm afraid I'll be taking it too far. Just assure him that its not a big deal, but don't pressure him. Because thats what my friends did to me, and it made it sooo much worse. |
No problem with that. I'm the sappiest guy I know. :upset:
What does sappiest mean? Sorry im trying to expand my english vocabulary. I think kissing is just so damn romantic. |
What does sappiest mean?
Sorry im trying to expand my english vocabulary.
Well, sappy is an adjective. It basically means to be sentimental to an excessive degree, or just overly mushy. Does that make sense?
Ya ive been trying to help my friend get over his fears about kissing and touching and all that good stuff but it doesnt work. He just calls himself a pansy and walks away. lol wat should i tell him?
Heh, I was like that for the most part (and probably still am, but I wouldn't know currently). There's really nothing you can do but keep encouraging him. Kissing and touching isn't exactly something you can flip on and off like a switch. He'll grow out of his pansy stage as soon as he's comfortable - but you can't force it on the poor lad, heh. |
you just said it- romantic, baisically, when guys go all goo goo over girls, they get all sappy.
|
Sappy = Soaking with fluid, soggy, wet, soaking.
In this case I was saying I was sappy with lame romantic feelings. :p |

Haha, you should kiss him and be like "See hoe? that was easy!".
you'll blow his mind. |
K thanks for the advice and the description of the word but i just think he has no confidence. Is there any help for that?
Confidence comes in soo many differnent ways. I mean, If hes worried hes gonna screw up. Either if he does it first with some random girl, so that hey can just wing it, and not worry about it, because shes not someone he wants to keep. OR, this one is probably better, if its someone who he knows will care about him, and accept him ,and understand, "hey, its his first time" actually, i bet alot of girls think thats cute. For general confidence with girl all togeter, I learned this, here, in L&R. When ever you make eye contact, tell him not do do that whole, jerk your head away as fast as you can. I used to do that alot, but now, if i can help it, it's best to maintaine the eye contact, and make them break it. It may seem wierd at first. but try it. I've been working on it for a while now, and I think it actually helps. Edit- I hope Bush doesn't use this post as an excuse for all of his mistakes. |

Well, maybe. Currently, I have had absolutely zero confidence in pretty much anything lately because anything that could go wrong the past couple weeks has (Murphy's Law ftw!), but I know that there are better days ahead, and I'll be back on my feet one way or another. Some people are just naturally shy, or uneasy in one-on-one situations with another person, especially if it's potentially intimidating. Again, I'm a pile of nerves in pretty much any preceding situation, but once I get talking, the butterflies are assuaged. |
wait till he starts having sex. then we'll have something to talk about.
