|
Dog Bite, at the beggining maybe.
|
I think they'd just had enough of each other.
And there is no chance they'll reunite.
Thanks for clearing that up, and that's too bad... |
whats the DK song thats got jello saying "thats too slow"?
It's Dog Bite, Sean was right. And to Maverick. DK orginally broke up with the same reasons many bands break up, they got tired of each other and had some differences. Plus after the Frankenchrist trial they were all pretty bummed on music. Then shortly after the breakup came the whole Jello stole royalities and the band tried to sell songs to corporations drama that killed chances of them reuniting. If that had never happened, they'd probably be playing a reunion tour right now and maybe releasing an album about Bush, WTO, War in Iraq, etc. |

I just heard a 30 second clip of the song and it turns out to be a parody of some geto boys song called "Da'mn it feels good to be a gangsta' except he switches the words "gangsta" nigga" and "pranksta" with "yuppie".......hmmm that doesn't sound very biafra-ie |

Google to the rescue Description of Yuppie Pricks Not even Ronald Reagan's death could exterminate the tenacious 80s yuppie, who now seeks to exploit our precious punk heritage in the form of THE YUPPIE PRICKS from Austin, TX. Core members boast an impressively depressing resume of professional qualifications including divorce law, stock trading, and running a pharmaceutical company. High 80s literature like Bright Lights, Big City and American Psycho gave us a glimpse of the decadent, narcissistic yuppie lifestyle, but Broker's Banquet rubs our lower tax-bracket noses in mountains of cocaine and Wolfgang Puck pizzas. THE YUPPIE PRICKS' first album was an exclusive affair sold only on Wall Street and in country clubs: rumor has it that they bribed Biafra to release Broker's Banquet to get street cred. Sonically speaking, these PRICKS probably had a crash course in punk rock by listening to the DKs Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death on CD as they drove around in their Range Rovers, then somehow got a whiff of the NEW BOMB TURKS and FLESHIES. Gordon Gecko immortalized the 80s "Greed is Good" philosophy and G. W. Bush applied his yuppie shenaniganism to the American Presidency, but it took the Yuppie Pricks to collide this carnivorous mentality with punk. Recommended for fans of the UPPER CRUST! They released their album on AT, Jello's label as you know. And here is something after the info THE YUPPIE PRICKS somehow tricked anti-yuppie pundit Jello Biafra into a guest appearance on the GETO BOYS parody "**** It Feels Good to Be a Yuppie." So what you have is/ Jello. |
wow, actually, after seeing their website, these dudes really are yuppies.

I have one on slsk, crappy recording done on New Years |
I want the official band threads to look more interesting then they do now, so I need your assistance for clever titles. These titles should relate to the band in some way, whether they be songs, albums, lyrics, or quotes. So if you have any ideas, please post them here, and the best idea will be used.

I blow DK, for a living.
|
Spinning on a crowded DK
|
My download of the new Jello/Melvins album finished today, I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but Kali-Fornia Uber Alels 21st Century is an awesome song. Jello did a great job (as always) as changing to song to be about Arnie.
