were they on the daily upload? they sound to be interesting ...
Nope. I can put some on there though if you want. |
yes, please. would like to listen to them
|
What other albums by Lacrimas Profunde should I pick up beside the one sent out on the Daily Upload?
Their other good CD is Memorandum. It's the most Anathema doom-like of the lot. The earlier albums are them finding their sound, and the later albums after Burning are them moving in a completely different direction. Two bands that sadly never get mentioned enough in this genre: Grey skies fallen Swallow the sun I'll upload some of both this week. |
Grey Skies Fallen requested my friendship on myspace.
|
My girlfriend knows Rick Habeeb of Grey skies. That was sort of a shock to me because he sent her tickets to Death in the Forest fest. It's way too far for us to go but nonetheless.
|
I never thought they were big, I thought they where just a local band on myspace trying to spread their name.
|
Never heard doom.
Might dl some Candlemass. |
IMO, I dont really like Candlemass that much. Im not trying to discourage you from checking it out. I just thought id get my thoughts out.

I like them quite a bit. They have some very good stuff on Epicus Doomicus Metallus. Other than that cd, though, I haven't really explored their discography. |
Epic Doom Metal:p
Maybe i should add a us to everything that already sounds cool. |

I think they're pretty good. A Doom/Death band from Finland. Very good vocalst, I love his deep growls. I've ordered Ghost Of Loss a while back, the special edition, with a dvd with a clip and some live material, it's good stuff, I can recommend it to fans of doom/death. I love the lyrics to descending Winter, not all that special but they fit very well with the feel of the music: Descending winters for all lands, All hope is gone, in his hands. out from the north, in to the south, winter turned his frozen mouth |
Swallow the Sun ... i was sure i had an album by them on my computer or somewhere... but it seems i don't

mindrot rules
Hi ****ing doom fans ;):smash:
you should check mindrot´s "dawning" album. it´s the best doom/death I´ve ever heard, and I´ve heard many doom albums! Not of one of them comes close to it. Does anyone have the live demo? I have all the others... I have only a few favourites in doom... they are: mindrot-everything skepticism-stormcrowfleet esoteric-everything tyranny - everything neurosis - through silver any good ideas from people, who like these? which **** I could check? Thanks for everything! ****ing Greetings from ****ing Germany:chug: Why do these ****ing smiley´s only have bear? Is theirs whiskey gone? huhaha:chug: |
So anyone in love with Shape Of Despair?
Awesome funeral doom band from Finland. I love how they use a violin, they use female vocals too, but more to add atmospehere (in a chanting choir like style) it's very good. on antoher note: I sent Swallow The Sun - Ghosts Of Loss to Metaloz, so you can be expecting the album in you rinboxes in a few days. |

Has anyone heard of YOB? I've been listening to The Unreal Never Lived lately, and it's fucking epic.
Here's a shitty quality mp3 from stonerrock if anyone wants to hear. http://www.stonerrock.com/jukebox/YOB-Quantum_Mystic.mp3 |
Sorry to be linking myspace accounts, but this band is actually really good.
http://www.myspace.com/jecano They are local from near me, and I've seen them a few times live, they were excellent each time. Check out the song 'Tyrewall' and let me knbow what you think. |
I've recently re discovered how much I love Let loose The Swans of My Dying Bride.
such an awesome album. riding on my bike back home in the middle of the night with an icy wind and this cd on, what an experience.
That album's awesome wherever I listen to it. The guitar tones Calvin had on that record were chilling. |
Are there any Sleep fans? If so I would like to hear some opinions/info.
|
I absolutely love Sleep. They're my favourite band in the whole spectrum of stoner/doom/sludge. I made a thread on them a little while ago.
Here's my fred: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=470126&highlight=dopesmoker I see you posted in it though so that won't do you any good. I could send some stuff to you if you'd like. Or just upload it to the daily upload. |
