 You of course realize it's a load of garbage?
Yeah haha It was still pretty funny though  |
I'm still suspicious of the fact that he supposedly "didn't realize" that NIN had a huge fan base.
|
heh, thats funny because after i read the post for the second time to myself..i read it outloud to my roommate and she looked at me rather weirdly...and i told her.."ha, this has to be some sort of joke"... :p
Anyway, you really did get my brain to think for a minute there.. :thumb: ..not just anyone can do that with me..hahaha. |

- I don't think it was that, so much as he doesn't have a "rockstar ego", ya know what I mean? 6 years is a long time man. Sure I think T-rez is one of the most brilliant musicians the world has seen in a long time, but I doubt he sees himself that way. 90% of the bands out there could NOT just disappear from the public for almost a decade and just comeback and sell out shows the way NIN has. I think for the most part Trent knows this, and he didn't want to "expect to much" from his fans. I'm gald we proved him wrong! :) |
What are NIN like live? Anybody been?
|
Not yet...May 25th is just around the corner though! I've read some really good reviews about the current tour though. I've seen their live DVD many times as well and it's just pretty amazing...Seems like they put on one hell of a show.
|
I'll definantly go if they make a stop in Maryland.
|

One word: Chaos. They're fucking AWESOME live. |

Well he 'didnt realise' that he had such a problem with addiction and that his manager stole his money lol! |

It is actually amazing, how loyal and strong a fanbase he has, really. Anyway, all I can hope for is that there'll be some reletively cheap scalped tickets at the door when I get to the show. :-\ |
Well, I know Trent still has it (like the one guy said) because I got like 2 bootlegged shows, and they're awesome.
I wanna go see them live so bad... |

Good luck with that. I'm guessing you're gonna try to make the Houston show? Oh, and by the way, "With Teeth" is No.1 on the charts! :thumb: |
Good luck with that. I'm guessing you're gonna try to make the Houston show?
Oh, and by the way, "With Teeth" is No.1 on the charts! :thumb:
 That's awesome! Have any of the other albums gone to number 1 before? |

Yeah, no kidding. The band (probably mostly Trent) must feel pretty d@mn good.
That's awesome! Have any of the other albums gone to number 1 before?
I believe "The Fragile was No.1 also. I think TDS made it to No.2 only...which is still not bad. |
Im pretty sure TDS hit number 1 atleast once.....it had Closer as its SINGLE....everyone was obsessed with that song the second they heard it...

Yeah. I loved that song when it came out. Well, when I heard it... BEcause I was pretty young when it came out :D |
NIN is incredible live, just saw them the 10th in Toronto, ****ing spectacular.
Trent landed on me when he jumped off the stage in Piggy. Awesome setlist. |
^^Yeah, I read reviews to that show. Looks like it was indeed an awesome show. Most of the reviews i've been reading have been REALLY good and the setlist keeps chaning everytime. I can't wait for May 25th. It's almost here!
|
Has anyone ever seen We're In This Together Now live?
I would LOVE to see it live, but none of the bootlegs I can get a hold of have it on there (you can see all of their tracklists). It sucks. It seems like that would be an aweosme song live. |
What is the "NIN – Collected" DVD?
Look here: http://www.bandbuilder.com/nin/index.php?ref_code=D57518 Official? Bootleg? A scam? I'd love to know. |
I'm not too sure if it's an official release or not (if it is, then this would be halo 20) but according to the NIN hotline it contains:
"[The DVD contains a] Body of Work section identical to the one on TDS Dualdisc, but updated with Halo 18 and 19. Then there's the featurette. From the descriptions I read of the listening parties, this is what was played on screens at those. The opening is clips from various NIN videos, then it plays clips of every NIN video, Woodstock '94, Closure, AATCHB, etc, all in chronological order, opened by titles like "[1989]" and "THE_PERFECT_DRUG." The quality looks and sounds pretty much flawless. The length of this entire deal is probably under half an hour. " I saw this dvd on ebay a couple days ago selling for about $99..but then I read somewhere that the dvd is going to come with some magazines, bundled with some video games, and given out at clubs...and well, NIN.com is giving it out for free... *hopes to get it in the mail* |
Well I've been carefully cutting down and altering the songs on my 2 CD's for a NIN compilation. It simply cannot be done perfectly. Here is the track list so far, done in chronological order so people can see what albums they came from and tell me off if I left a song behind or included one that shouldn't be there.
Pretty Hate Machine Down In It Head Like A Hole Sin Terrible Lie Something I Can Never Have Broken Wish Happiness In Slavery Gave Up (?) Suck The Downward Spiral March Of The Pigs Closer Hurt Heresy Mr. Self Destruct Reptile Piggy (?) Ruiner (?) The Perfect Drug The Fragile The Day The World Went Away We're In This Together The Fragile The Wretched Somewhat Damaged The Great Below (?) - - Starfuckers Inc. Into The Void Where Is Everybody (?) The Big Comedown Still And All That Could've Been Deep (?) With Teeth The Hand That Feeds All The Love In The World Every Day Is Exactly The Same Only (?) Sunspots (?) The Line Begins To Blur Right Where It Belongs (?) The ones with ?'s next to them are one's that I am unsure of to put on a NIN compilation with their best material. Some are due to time constraints, as this set of songs is still 7 minutes over 2hr 40min. Please, big NIN fans, help me with this, this has the potential to be a badass CD. Don't tell me to just listen to their CD's, I've already done that 103209328438423 times. Anyway, thanks :naughty: |
I love NIN and I like With Teeth a lot but has anyone noticed how similar the riff from The Hand That Feeds is to a certain riff from Peace sells.... with Megadeth. Anyways Trent Reznor is a ****in genius. I'd love to see NIN live.

I'll bold the ones that I think you should take off, and add suggestions. Right now it's pretty good, but I see some things that shouldn't be on there, in my opinion of course. |
I bought with teeth today, I felt the songs were far more poppy but it is still really good :thumb:

I was up front for a good portion of it, till one douche threatened to stab me and another infront of me was trying to start a fight, then i was over by the right for the rest of it. I liked how he played so much of broken, and all of the old stuff for that matter. Closer sounded pretty rushed though Trent has a loyal fanbase, but a lot of them aren't great to go to a concert with :( |

In Houston, every concert I've been to, the audience is awesome. THe kind where if anyone falls down or is getting hurt, everyone rushes to help. In Austin, though, there are more jackasses. A lot of it depends on the band and the location. |

ah, not too many of them at this concert. Other than the threats and stuff another guy was trying to protect his girlfriend or something silly like that, so anyone who got withing a foot or two of them he flipped out on. He grabbed this one guy by the neck and started threatening him and stuff. And there were alot of losers who kept their elbows up too. But the show itself was really good, I remember them opening with pinion, playing Something I can never have, Head like a hole, Closer, March of the pigs, Ruiner, Wish, Hurt, You know what you are(?I forget what the title is?), With Teeth, The Hand that Feeds and a few others. I don't really remember him playing anything off of The Fragile. EDIT: I can't believe i forgot to mention the Dresdon Dolls, they were amazing, way better than I thought they'd be. The played an awesome cover of War Pigs, which is pretty great considering it's mostly just drums and piano |
