Static 06-01-2005 04:11 PM

im drumming on every song, and im fixing up BoP right now, so it should be up and running maybe by tonight

Mambuto_O'Mally 06-01-2005 05:35 PM

here's a question. On the last chorus of Vietnow theres two parts the really fast '9' note and the reg. chorus, should I do both?

Static 06-01-2005 05:50 PM

yes

Mambuto_O'Mally 06-03-2005 07:35 AM

WE'RE BACK BABY!!!!! YEAH!!!

Anyway I should have Vietnow done shortly. I'm gonna try it in one take.

Arucard 06-03-2005 07:45 AM

Who's doing Bulls? I would love to do the guitar on that.

Mambuto_O'Mally 06-03-2005 07:55 AM

Are all the songs (with the exception of Bulls which is 1/2 a step down) on Evil Empire regular tunning?

Mambuto_O'Mally 06-03-2005 03:46 PM

No answer, eh? Well what to do.

Janitor 06-03-2005 03:58 PM

I think the only songs in standard are down rodeo and without a face, the rest are drop d. I'm not 100% sure about that though.

Darkness 06-03-2005 04:33 PM

^What?? Thats not right. Wind Below, Down Rodeo, People of the sun (even though only played on the A string with an Allen wrench), and Veitnow are all played in standard.

Aeaon 06-03-2005 04:39 PM
Out of those I would like to play on Killing in the Name the most, but I'll take anything.
KITN is pretty easy, but that's all I've played so far.

Duncster 06-03-2005 04:45 PM

Yeah go ahead, I just want BoP for the bass solo :D. I was going to do kitno but I don't really care to much so if you want it you can have it. Long as you have distortion :D

Janitor 06-03-2005 04:51 PM
^What?? Thats not right. Wind Below, Down Rodeo, People of the sun (even though only played on the A string with an Allen wrench), and Veitnow are all played in standard.
I said I wasn't completely sure.

Darkness 06-03-2005 04:52 PM

Yeah I know, I was just telling you the others in standard... Not attacking ofcourse.

Darkness 06-04-2005 08:46 AM

Where are them bulls drums??

Thor 06-04-2005 09:14 AM

Yeah, I've got overdrive. It will sound pretty good, I've got a tone that sounds kind of close to Timmy C's overdrive.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-04-2005 09:40 AM

I want drums and bass down before I start recording KitN, if that's otay with you guys.

Metal Cabeza- You're doing vox, right?

Darkness 06-04-2005 09:51 AM

I want bass n drums to acutually.

Duncster 06-04-2005 04:27 PM

I'll do it however I'm told lol. Yeah you can have kitno if you want metalhead, I won't do the bass tone justice.

Thor 06-04-2005 05:29 PM

Cool. Looks like I am doing bass then.

Mambuto_O'Mally 06-05-2005 12:43 PM

Who's doing what on Vietnow again? I'd like the drum part (if possible) so I can listen to it while recording, but if I can't whatever. I got everything lined up and I will edit my part the best I can, but it won't be as good quality as I wanted because my jack broke so I have to do the recording through my mic. But, eh, thats life.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-05-2005 12:44 PM

Demon Hunter recorded KitN and BoP last night on drums. He was going to send them to me, but I never got online. :p Oops. Anyways, just giving you guys a little update.

Darkness 06-05-2005 02:38 PM

Hey guys people keep telling me that this threads not aloud to enter the compition because its not an official thread... any thoughts on this?

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-05-2005 04:02 PM

I said this earlier, but even if we weren't aloud to enter, I still think it'd be fun to do a couple covers.

Darkness 06-05-2005 04:12 PM

Yeah ok. Still waiting for bass n drums...

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-05-2005 04:18 PM

Sweet. Now all I need is a tone that sounds something even remotely close to Morello's. :p I just recorded Killing in the Name, and everything went off fine, but I played it back, and the tone is so horrendously off it's not even funny. (Ok, yeah, maybe a little.) What settings are you using on your RP, DoG?

Darkness 06-05-2005 04:23 PM

Not using my RP, I don't use it anymore. It doesn't work well with my B.C rich, I get a loud feedback on a lot of effects and the tone always sounds way to digital.

As for amp settings, I was told Morello uses
bass-5
middle-7
treble-8

But someone in this thread said something waaaay different. I'm going to try both though.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-05-2005 04:27 PM

I think I need to bump up the treble. The riff when my tone sounds the worst is the intro riff where he hits 3 open D's then scales up 2 octaves. Meh, I'll figure it out.

Darkness 06-05-2005 04:34 PM

That'd be cool man, but if you can't find any don't worry about it.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-05-2005 04:53 PM

I could google it, but hey, if you really want to, that would be awesome. Thanks ahead of time. :)

Found this site on Tom's setup. He uses a Marshall 50 watt JCM900. Luckily for me, that exact same amp is built into my RP300A, and probably yours as well, DoG.
