The Pixies' 'Trompe Le Monde' has caught my attention lately...I like it better than Surfer Rosa.

Tapeworm 08-25-2004 04:53 AM

Nice ones, Ihate.

I've been listening to Dredg's "El Eielo", and my two Cog EPs. Very similar bands.

Tomahawk 08-25-2004 08:14 AM

The flavour of the day is Smashing Pumpkins.

I've also been partaking in a bit of the ol' Jeff Buckley, and I'm liking Gyroscope right now.

Happymeal 08-25-2004 08:34 AM

Right now I like Matthew Good Band-The Rat Who Would Be King, Cowboy Junkies-Thousand Year Prayer and Everything But The Girl-No Difference..just borrowed some cd's from the library yesterday.

Sonic_Reducer 08-26-2004 11:15 AM

thewalrus81 08-26-2004 12:27 PM

OrbDragon 08-26-2004 04:07 PM

Motorpsycho might just be a band you'd like, Nach...they are from Norway. Very experimental at times, definately influenced by Floyd, but also by Sonic Youth and The Cure. It's a really schizophrenic band...they can be really mellow...but also really fncked up and chaotic too. Their best album is called "Timothy's Monster".

I just listened to Fiery Furnaces for the first time. Their new album BlueBerry Boat has high ratings from critics but a quick glance at amazon shows a mixed respone. It'a love it or hate it album. I personally love the cool sounds and complex structures. I think I will really like this band

KazooVirtuoso 08-26-2004 10:22 PM

I've been diggin' the songs I've downloaded by Hot Club of Cowtown, but I'm having a hell of a time finding any more songs.

They're neat, sort of an old-school swing/jazz/country kind of thing. I'm diggin' the groovy guitar style.

If anything tops Blueberry Boat(which I doubt), it will have to be mindblowing...

I heard of them a few months ago..they're ok. Better than every other cookie-cutter bands breaking out right now I'd say.

Tori Amos-Gold Dust, Muse-Hate This And I'll Love you, Bjork-Play Dead, Rival Schools-Used For Glue

Tapeworm 08-27-2004 09:21 AM

I've been listening to Jeff Buckley's "Sketches for my Sweetheart the Drunk". Brilliant.

I just reviewed it too

I like you!

I saw Broken Social Scene tonight, they're really good live... You should download some songs if you haven't heard any.

*Points to user title*, Cause = Time is a really good song of theirs.

P.S - The lead singer of Metric is a member, just thought I'd say that because I know theres some fans.

Tangy zizzle 08-27-2004 10:57 PM

Today I got.

The Icarus Line - Penance Soiree
dEUS - In A Bar Under The Sea
Nirvana - Bleach

They're all quite good. In A Bar Under The Sea is definately one of the most musically mixed-up albums I've ever heard.

br3ad_man 08-28-2004 12:50 AM

Today I got:

Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue
The Definitive Simon and Garfunkel

Good stuff.

I listened to Amnesiac the other night and was reminded of it's greatness...It's very close to being my favourite Radiohead album.

BuddyBigsby 08-28-2004 02:19 AM

I'm on a major These Arms are Snakes trip.
