Spaceman Spiff 03-24-2005 02:49 PM

I don't play guitar, I don't enjoy playing it. Therefore, I don't know much about them.

Foxfire 03-24-2005 02:49 PM

Whee, my stuff just came. (Behringer Bass V-Amp Pro and QSC RMX1450).

Going to play with the V-Amp, then I'll get back to you guys.

The Digitech Grunge distortion is actually pretty nice, sounds very Marshall-esque.

Alright, I'm off for real.

Late.

Spaceman Spiff 03-24-2005 02:54 PM

I've got a Boss Flanger, it's awesome. It's my only effect pedal.
It's actually my brother's who plays guitar, but it has both guitar and bass inputs.

Thunder Fingers 03-24-2005 02:57 PM

i was thinkin about the neww behringer bass distortion..its realy cheap...

FlamingCouch 03-24-2005 03:03 PM

Hey guys, boiling strings makes them weaker right? My band's playing a band challenge in April, and I wanna clean my strings but I don't want them to die on stage cause I love the strings. I think I should just wipe em down, any thoughts?

fatbandit 03-24-2005 03:32 PM

Eddie, don't bother with that Jackson, get a real Explorer! Rahr! I love Explorers... If I could have the Diamond Plate Hetfield sig, I'd be very happy indeed. Also, can't forget the funkay headstock he has on his natural finish Explorer.

Explorer... thats Gibson...

I HATE GIBSON!!!!

Radiobass81 03-24-2005 03:45 PM

Gustavo Cerrati used to use Jacksons back in the 80's. He got a really cool sound out of them, unless playing chords (clean) :p.

bump. any opinions?

Spaceman Spiff 03-24-2005 03:58 PM

Buy new strings?

Radiobass81 03-24-2005 03:59 PM

Supposedly, it weakens the core. It will supposedly not affect it if you only do it one or two times, but after three the core should be pretty weak.

This is all what I've heard. Haven't really boiled strings.

FlamingCouch 03-24-2005 04:12 PM

Excellent, good stuff. Gracias.

Radiobass81 03-24-2005 04:15 PM

Myself, tomorrow I'm going to boil my DR strings and put them on my fretless. My fretless has some Hartkes, and I will buy another pair as backup. Not the best strings, but $13.

FlamingCouch 03-24-2005 04:21 PM

Right on.

Well, I'm off to work guys, seeya in 5 1/2 hours!

actually, i think i have played it. It was decent. My guitarist has a jackson super strat, and its nice...but the intonation is off, so it sounds like crap. Not a huge fan of mexi fenders, nor jacksons.

Buy a gibson :thumb:

Foxfire 03-24-2005 04:24 PM

The V-Amp Pro is a really fun unit, it makes my combo sound amazing.

Now I just need a cab. :upset:

Thunder Fingers 03-24-2005 04:27 PM

I have said that i will never touch a GIBSON!!!!

fatbandit 03-24-2005 04:31 PM

Well get an ESP Explorer then, like the Hetfield sig :thumb:

Anyhow, I'm off for the night MX!
