Big Brother is kinda depressing because the moments in the houses all look like hostage videos. In the American version, at least.

Can anyone explain to me why this^ is so bad?

Do so while I'm away please, since I need some money/food again, which gives me a flimsy pretext to go see Sin City again. So I'll see you all in a few hours.
The American Big Brother is, but the first Big Brother (as it is today) was made by Channel Four here in England. And the idea it was developed from was stolen from Dutch television, I think.

Where are you at the moment? Where in the country, I mean.
Yep stolen from Dutch television, Endemol entertainment.

Are you kidding? That's epitome of a sucky all girl band. The drummer just hits the things randomly without any sense of rhythm, the instruments are out of tune, they just hit random notes all over the place. The vocals are horrible and monotonous, the backing vocals come in too late.
And yet, allmusic praises them for doing all of the above, what a bunch of bullshit.

If you go before 5pm, it's only like 5 dollars.

I just put on an Iggy Pop song called Lust For Life, and I'm pretty sure Jet ripped this song off.

It's about that price in pounds in England which is almost double the price :upset:

Hmm, if you go before 12PM it's €5. But after that it's like €7. And meh, I can hardly afford to go to the cinema once a month or so, so I'd rather not spend it on the same film.

MXICAN: If so, we must conclude that Bartender is rich, very rich.

Illmatic 06-05-2005 01:57 PM

Movie tickets cost too dimn much here--at least 7 bucks a pop.

The only movies I've seen in the cinema in the past 12 months are Star Wars (which I'm not proud of), Sin City, Anchorman, and Dodgeball.

I am pretty sure he is seeing how many CDs he buys

Illmatic 06-05-2005 02:01 PM

He could just buy used.

That IS what smart people do.

Thor 06-05-2005 02:02 PM

Movies I have seen in the past year:
Dodgeball
Harry Potter 3
Spider Man 2
Alien vs. Predator
Star Wars 3

Wow, that's it. I just rent everything when it comes out.

clearvision 06-05-2005 02:04 PM

It's been a while since I've seen anything in the cinema, I think the last one was a film with Robert de Niro being schizophrenic, I forget the name.

clearvision 06-05-2005 02:07 PM

No Credit Card = No ebay 4 me.

And i have never seen a used CD store...To find any type of metal CD you have to trip into HMV and pay about £18...which is about $30 i presume.

Six Foot Revolver 06-05-2005 02:08 PM
whoa, wtf, you don't have used CD stores in England?

We do but they are much rarer than in America (I am guessing)

I never really go out of my way to go to the cinema, if some friends or family are going then I usually go with them.

Illmatic 06-05-2005 02:08 PM

Analyze That, I'd imagine.

I'm hoping Bobby De Niro needed to pay some mortages, but over the past 15 years he's sold out more than any actor I can think of.

Six Foot Revolver 06-05-2005 02:09 PM
You have bad shops. Very, very bad shops.
Yes, you wouldn't imagine. The only place you can get good things in England is the south

Illmatic 06-05-2005 02:09 PM

HMV sucks balls...Tower does too. Not only is everything horribly overpriced, but the employees give off the depressing desperation that comes from lack of customers.

I'm glad that I have access to the wonderful store that is Newbury Comics.

I'm throwin names off the top of my head...

Movie tickets are too expensive...its either a movie or music. I usually go with the music.

I actually shop at Tower occasionally, because they have a great selection. Anything mainstream/popular there is way overpriced, but I can find some decent buys usually on bands that aren't popular.

Nay, not that, it was supposed to be a 'scary' film. I'll look it up.

Aha ! It was 'Hide and Seek'

And: I used to think that we didn't have any used CD stores either, until I found 1 street that has like 5 stores.

Thor 06-05-2005 02:13 PM

I just buy all of my CDs off of Amazon. They have the best deals there.

Either way, Bobby's hit rock bottom.

Also, you know what has really gotten on my nerves? The fucking poker explosion in America. It's a pretty fun game, but WTF, guys. It's getting way out of hand.

Plenty of competition=good prices :thumb:

clearvision 06-05-2005 02:19 PM

In Asda (basically a smaller wallmart) they sell popular cd's for £8.99 ($12) but that's stuff like Nelly...

In HMV it's normally £8.99-£11.99 for popular CD's...but most others are up at like £17, even stuff like Korn...

I don't think they really see each other as competion though, they are often like "Go check out the other stores, they might have what you're looking for"

That's Europe for you :p
