Technically I believe that "Fender have" works as well. Fender is a company with LOTS of people working for it; thus, you can refer to it as more than one entity. However, "Fender has" will sound more correct, since we tend to refer to it as one entity.

e.g., "Fender has made a lot of crappy basses" as opposed to "Fender have made a lot of good basses."

i think "has" would be more correct, as you would only say "have" if you were saying something like "the people at fender [U]have[/U] made quality basses for years".

Agreed; but in a way it's preference. I agree that has sounds a lot better though. :p
