I sense JoZ will be angry with this one :( Basically a whole album of surrounded/another day with a couple of good songs thrown in...after first listen anyways...title track is ok, bit of a mission though.
Good good. I liked those tracks, so ill take a break from back tracking DT and get this then. Your recommendations have been good so far On a similar note, i got a listen to With Teeth the other day. 'Only' sounds....well i found it a mix of Bloc party/synth pop/Talking Heads. Is that just me? That track sticks out though as the weird one. |
 Bloc party? Talking heads? Hmm maybe actually...that song is a tune...the whole album is pretty good, 'right where it belongs' is probably joint best Nin song with closer and Hurt.
I will have to listen to that DT album again, not suprisingly, it's pretty epic. But alot of the early stuff was mellow, a couple of muse like tunes with a bit of heaviness...and the title track was just for the prog-lovers clocking in at 23:59 it seems to never end. Starting to get into some patton stuff atm, loving angel dust by Faith no more. bartender did my an informative little discography on him, I'm trying to digest some bungle stuff and will probably look into some fantomas stuff... Thoughts on patton and his many forms? |
He's in competiton with MJK for music whore no1.
His work is usually a mixed bag, like I love his FNM stuff, but cant get into many of his other projects. Not checked into it a lot yet though. |
He owns MJK at being a whore...Bartender lists about 20 albums he has featured on.
But they say it's quality not quantity... The Mr Bungle s/t was a strange experience, that will take alot of time to take in methinks, I also wanna check out the EP he did with dillinger escape plan... |
Teleincision, that was rumoured to be the album name a while back... I see
NP : DT - Octavarium I sense JoZ will be angry with this one :( Basically a whole album of surrounded/another day with a couple of good songs thrown in...after first listen anyways...title track is ok, bit of a mission though.
Yeah, the CD is good, but its not GREAT. |

I'll agree with that. I really like him with Faith No More, I've only recently been introduced to Mr Bungle, whom I like, but I find it really hard to get into Fantomas. I guess I'll check out some more of Patton's stuff, especially the DEP EP he worked on. |
Patton is a genious and he owns mjk at music whore I am not a major fan of FNM but the rest im a big fan.
|
I fell out with the DEP when they released a normal song.
Checking out the X-ecutioners work with Patton now |
it sounds good to me, but i'm still working through all those dloads...there was like 20 on that thread, im just looking at california by bungle atm...

I have the radio edit of Panic Attack and it sounds awesome. I am thoroughly looking forward to Octavarium. On a non Tool or Dream Theater related note...I present to you http://www.myspace.com/furtherfromfailure My band :D We don't sound anything like Tool or DT, sadly, but I do like the music. Let me know what you guys think  |
Loving those songs, not so much into the use of screaming but the music itself was quality...
I just have something against screaming really, I love the way alexisonfire use it to bring out the vocal line...When your singer actually sings he kinda reminds me of Chino (which is good) and the sound remings me of team sleep, but heavier... Hook me up with an EP or something if you have one :D |
Sorry, I'm not big on Tool, although I do enjoy their music, so I'm wondering if they're doing anything about a new album yet? Or still lazy :p
You go write something as amazing as tool, just one song. six months later I'll ask you if your too lazy. |
The latest DVD rumours has given a few people renewed hope. Last mailing list entry
BMB recently said that the live dvd would be released AFTER the new cd was out. So, this could be better news than we think. But since its Tool were talking about, I wont be holding my breath.
Im still hopeful for an October 27th release :D |

His best stuff is Tomahawk |

Check it out when you get home. I've just passed it on to some friends and they love it.
In fact, one is already awaiting the album release |

Yeah, shows you ho optimistic people get before reverting back to usual untrusting stage
|
I just heard about this August 16th thing on the zdlr.net forum... I'm jumping up and down. :D
|
Dont go penning it in, im still wary.
(its a typical forest fan reaction, good news must be bad) |
I just want a Tool dvd so bad... :(
|
The moment I get that DVD in my hands I'll have a joygasm.
|
I'd love a Tool DVD, but I'd honestly rather see them live first.
On a completely unrelated note, I just played drums at a school concert. I drummed in "Hysteria" by Muse, "Save the Population" by the Chili Peppers, and an original song that my band and I made. Lots of fun, the show's happening again tomorrow night. |
Sweet. Ijust listened to Hysteria by Muse.
|
I posted this a few weeks ago, but as I search the Net for 'Teleincision', I get more responses that tell me that it will come out August 16th, but this could be the best rumor ever played, and it also could be real. Keep your eyes peeled!
