Good gracious. Lay off the Micky D's.

Kage 11-14-2005 09:48 PM

I'm not really overweight for my height. I'm actually quite trim. :)

Hells Bells 11-14-2005 09:52 PM
Mmmm...brand new bass. :p

What kind?

Kage is right...Ticketmaster charges WAY too much for services. A 35 dollar ticket had 10 bucks extra for charges.
It's an Ibanez SR-400, it's good enough as a starter :p

I've never gotten service charges like that, but Ticketmaster can be really annoying sometimes, especially when it comes to keeping track of upcoming shows.
*walks away defeated*

On an Opeth related note, what other covers have they done besides Remember Tommorow? I really like it but I've never heard the Maiden version so I can't compare.
They did an awesome cover of Circle of the Tyrants by Celtic Frost, replacing the opening guitar riff with one on the piano...it makes it sound so dark and ominous.

I realize this, but still. McDonald's is evil. I work with a guy that's about 6'4" and weighs 320, and he's not overweight at all. It's kind of intimidating, actually.

On a side note, I've gotten and am enjoying Hot Rats.

Wow.. you're huge..

I weigh 160, and am 6 feet tall.

Werny 11-15-2005 12:57 AM

Opeth need to come to Australia, the turds. I would glady kill to see Baying of the Hounds live.

It looks like they don't have much variation in their setlist.

Ah well, I guess that means if I see them they'll most likely play Deliverance.

Det_Nosnip 11-15-2005 01:01 AM

While we're on the topic, I'm 6'3 and haven't weighed myself in quite a while. Last time I did I was at about 205, but I've lost quite alot of weight in the past months, so I have no clue where I am at.

On related news: Nevermore was ****ing AWESOME. That seriously was one of the best concerts I've ever been to...they freaking tore the place down.

Deth 11-15-2005 06:56 AM

I would have enjoyed Nevermore but I was too busy watching Jeff Loomis' hands.

He shredded the hell out his guitar for 45 minutes at the Opeth show.

Yeah When I went to see Opeth here in Houston.. they had Pelican with them instead of Nevermore..which was fine by me..I love Pelican...but after listening to Nevermore I would have liked to see them too... but I'm fine with what I got..either way it was a damn good show

Jude 11-15-2005 09:54 AM

So A Fair Judgement is now my favorite Deliverance track.

pfft, i'm 6'6", 180lbs.

And get this... I'm 15.

Det_Nosnip 11-15-2005 12:46 PM

That's nuts.

It's better on Lamentations, IMO. The end solo at around 6:30 (especially the part towards 7:20) rapes live, I think it has much more feeling

I don't have Lamentations :( Maybe I'll ask for it for Christmas.

JamJar 11-15-2005 01:30 PM
Ticketmaster is evil, are you joking?

It didn't tell me Dragonforce was playing THEIR ONLY US SHOW in my area...I found out from their website, only to find out that tickets sold out the day they went up.

They DID have Sonata Arctica tickets though. :D
To make you feel better, I'm going Dragonforce in January :p

I really need to get lamentations, I'll also ask for it as a christmas present or birthday (only 8 days :))

You must be like a Tall Stick man

Kage at least has the weight to back it up..and I know him he is HUGE

and hes not much older than you....but the fact that you are 6'6 at 15 is quite strange.. I bet you look like the alien off the movie..Encounters of the third kind.

UpperDecker 11-15-2005 04:24 PM

I haven't really seen anyone talk about "The Moor". Its one of my favorite songs on Still Life. Great intro, great work with the instruments, especially the clean singing and clean guitar( the heavy guitar is great too). I especially like how the song ends. I feel its one of their most complete songs and ends just perfectly. yea..........

Good man. Much better then Godheads Lament, eh?? :D

I actually had to go to a doctor this morning to get my height checked out.
My dad is only 6', and my mum is 5'10", so the doctor thought it was really strange. It's apparently still within the bounds of 'normal' though

UpperDecker 11-15-2005 05:17 PM
Good man. Much better then Godheads Lament, eh?? :D
I'd say the song as a whole is better than Godheads Lament but there are certain parts of Godheads Lament that cant be topped. The "searching my way to perplexion" part and the acoustic part " "What would they say if i would stay".. Those parts are just amazing. But yea i guess i like The Moor better.

Excellent.

Well, that's odd, considering your avatar. :p

Yeah, The Moor is awesome. Such a great song name, too.

Darkness 11-15-2005 05:52 PM

His avatar is Damnation, I believe.

Kaiwaz 11-15-2005 06:03 PM

I still can't find out what this sound is on the song April Ethereal at around 1:46. There's a little taint of it before also. It sounds like it was intentional, but I can't put my finger on it. It almost sounds like he strums the strings on the headstock.

My avatar's actually from the back of Deliverance.

The Moor owns. Possibly the best metal song ever made (though Face of Melinda is still my personal favorite)

Are you talking about the sound that is kind of like piano-ish? To me it always sounded like a piano note.

It's around 1:46. It sounds like he's strumming the strings on the headstock, I don't know.

Toaster 11-15-2005 07:18 PM

It sounds like something on bass, or maybe an acoustic guitar, because that part goes right into an acoustic riff.

Hells Bells 11-15-2005 08:12 PM

I remember someone saying they learned To Bid You Farewell on bass, and I was wondering where you got the tabs from. I've looked all over the place for good tabs, and it's not getting me anywhere :upset:

I know the song it's kind of hard but when you finally get it down believe me that it's freaking beautiful.
