A Fall Farewell's guitarist is unbeleivably amazing.

Someone needs to tab 'The Truth So Familiar' by Reach The Sky for bass. I love that intro.

I'm leaving for KYI/Crime in Stereo/Forward to Death/The Spark in an hour. It should be fun, i'm gonna get 3 or 4 cds from the distro there too.

2/12/05-Kill Your Idols/Forward to Death/The Spark-Review

Crime in Stereo was a no-show, so there were only 3 bands.

The Spark-This band impressed me. They're an old-school hardcore band from Maryland. They played a good set, i'll be looking more into them. www.thesparkhc.com Go check them out.

Forward to Death-This band rules. They played a good set and to end it, played 2 DK covers. I picked up their new cd Death Therapy, and it's really good. I like it a lot more then their demo. If you haven't heard this band yet, go check them out.

Kill Your Idols-They also played well. I'm just getting into them, so I can't say their set list. They played some covers, but I didn't recognize any of the songs. They covered Sick of it All, Bad Brains, and Negative Approach.

Overall, it was a good show. The best part was FTD covering 'California Uber Alles"

Kill Your Idols rule.

Has anyone heard of Red Roses For A Blue Lady? They sound alot like This Day Forward.

Why are all the threads showing less replies than they actually have?

Unless his name is Dan Stephens, it's from:

What the fuck are you two retards talking about?

victimofreality 02-14-2005 07:02 PM

I feel stupid asking this question since it has probably been asked several times before, but I need a genre clarification. What genre do you consider bands like Thursday, Emery, and the stuff like that? Everyone at my school calls it emo, but they are stupid. I always considered it post hardcore, but they don't sound much like the bands listed under post hardcore (Fugazi, Husker Du, etc.) So are they just sort of the evolution of post hardcore, or am I completely off base?

victimofreality 02-14-2005 07:07 PM
For those familiar with the band’s first release, you’ll hear less of the screaming vocals by Andrew although they do appear a couple of times on the record.
I thought their vocalist was Scott...

Andrew does the backup vocals. Example: In 'All In A Year' the guy screaming 'Can't live in yesterday' is Andrew.

No one will lynch you if you just call them pop-punk.

Pop-punk isn't exactly a specific genre. I'm not worried about getting lynched (I think), I was just wondering.
