Did Peel get this kind of reaction here?
Who is Peel? /ignorance |
xiz - Was that a good :amaze: or a bad :amaze:?
Those of us who knew who he was mourned, just unfortunately we were pathetically few. Anyway, it doesn't stop this whole Damageplan shooting incident being as shitty as it is. |
Who is Peel?
/ignorance
John Peel, a legendary radio DJ. Legendary in England anyway, though his influence is felt all over. He died a few weeks back, of an unexpected heart attack. |
I've been wondering that ever since they appeared. It's been causing me a probably undue amount of stress. No one's answered the post I made in the Report Problems thread...I have only seen maybe two other people with three stars, and I frankly don't understand it.
Look at it this way: I get people praising me at least once or twice a week for putting some random noob or troll in their place, but don't get much in the way of rep points. I'm sort of an unsung hero, as it were. :D You got stars. When you get a gift, don't ask questions. |
I give you rep when I can (only once so far, though..having to spread it around is annoying), because ninjas are awesome, and so are your posts, generally.

I see. Never heard of him :-/ |

Hadn't read that before, so I'll probably start now. Thanks. Already a fan of Weebl and Bob. I don't suppose you read Little Gamers (www.little-gamers.com), do you? I haven't read it for several months now, but I used to read it every day. Very cute, very Swedish, and stuffed full of ninjas. |

DDR! lmao!

I can't believe you don't get more rep though Steerpike, because you are one of the most intelligent, kick-*** users we've got on these forums. I tried to give you some, but I had to spread some around...curses! |

Very geeky humor, but Aaron Williams' is one of the influences of my current sense of humor. He has a great turn of phrase. There's a distinctive food pattern to that cartoon. |
Those links were pretty funny too.

Well, yeah, but still. Out of curiosity, where are you from? Just wondering how known Peel is outside of the UK. |

I tend to be a bit of a tight-*** with rep points... When I remember that I can give them. I honestly don't consider it a normal day unless my train of thought gets derailed while I'm in mid-sentence at least twice. One of many phrases my friends are used to hearing from me is "I'm not quite sure where I was going with this..." EDIT: In fact, I'm not really that sure where I was going with this... |
b33r!*
I'm from Southern California, Bartender. I originally found out about him from a friend. I don't know where he found him. |

God, I'm still reeling from Dimebag's death. That's gonna hit a whole ****load of people really hard too, and I bet the guy that shot him was some dick Pantera fan that probably hated Dimebag for not trying hard enough to keep the band together or some bull****. What a ****ed up planet. The guy was harmless. Why on earth would you shoot a guy like that? |

At least you can remember what your connection were. I'm like Peter in that one episode of Family Guy where he goes off on a different tangent with each sentence. BRIAN: Do you actually listen to yourself talk? PETER: Eh, I drift in and out.
God, I'm still reeling from Dimebag's death. As I said in another thread, not many guitarists these days actually develop their own sound unlike anyone else's. Dimebag was an exception. You can't measure the value of something like that. |
Anyone here a fan of the His Dark Materials trilogy of books?
If so, have you heard the ridiculous news about the film version? |

Ehhh, ok. I've been writing a conference paper for five hours and it still isn't finished...I'm goin' to bed now. Night, guys.
|
Bartender, I think I've heard of it. What's the basic storyline?
|
Can't say that I have.
Though speaking of film, wish me luck as I'm trying to get a new project underway for this summer. I'm going to be working on a film adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's short story "Pickman's Model." |

I better duck out too. I have to meet my friends for lunch tomorrow, so I can't sleep in. And then I need to turn in my final paper for Horror Fiction. Come to think of it... why am I still awake?! |
Bartender, I think I've heard of it. What's the basic storyline?
The basic storyline of the books is slightly too vast to outline in the few minutes I have before I have to leave for my tutorial. The problem with the film version is, the director has decided to remove any anti-religious sentiments from it. This may somewhat nix the success of the translation though, since the first two books, solid though they are, lead straight up to the third book, and the third book is all about a war on God. Stupid, stupid, stupid decision. Goodnight, Ripper. Goodnight and good luck, Pikey. |
-edit
nuts on it, I need to stretch my thinking box. |
Or just think outside the box
