Sorry, I'm not big on Tool, although I do enjoy their music, so I'm wondering if they're doing anything about a new album yet? Or still lazy :p

corporalclegg 05-26-2005 01:41 AM

I believe Danny Carey said they are currently in the studio and writing many songs with Lateralus-esque tempo, but with an Aenema crunch to it. But it could be just lies. All lies.

Well, that sounds decent in my opinion.

clearvision 05-26-2005 03:09 AM

Sliptallica/kage...I remember earlier on in the thread someone posted a list of topics that were emant to be intertwined with the new album...I haven't got time to search however :(

Heck, they could incorporate some Undertow-era heaviness to this album... hopefully better quality than Undertow of course :p

Werny 05-26-2005 06:15 AM

Didn't Danny say to read up on Solomon or something?
Haha, an 18 minute ringtone!

If it's anything like the odyssey that is Third Eye, I will be very happy. It seems to me Tool's longest songs tend to be their best (Third Eye, Lateralus, Reflection, Eulogy), because they can just let the song go wherever it needs to.
"Dude, why isnt he picking up his phone? Its been ringing for at least 10 minutes now"

/me still listening to ringtone

That Eulogy lighter seems cool too

Hey, you want ep3?

Adam Jones is GOD 05-26-2005 08:07 AM

Oh yes please :)

Checking DVD release dates for the UK, depressing :(

Darkness 05-26-2005 08:54 PM

I'm currently listening to those Kyuss tracks... not something I'd normally listen to, but it doesn't suck at all.

Huber 05-26-2005 08:57 PM

So I'm at my drum lessons today, and I pass by my teacher's car while we go to get something out of it, and I see a stack of practice pads with geometrical symbols drawn on them. I knew my teacher liked Tool, but didn't know that much!

Darkness 05-26-2005 09:04 PM

Heh, thats cool man.

On another note, my friend now allows me to listen to 1 Tool track a week. (I begged him) And now, I'm listening to The Grudge... and god is it good.

Moses 05-26-2005 09:04 PM

You know, I've heard so much music from Tool that was complicated and out of form, I'd like to see a simple, soft, ABAB form type song.

That would be very interesting...

Here's a little gay pun my spanish teacher shared with me.

Seven days without Tool makes one weak.

lol pun

Instead of Tool, he said softball. Yes, HE said SOFTBALL. What a fag.

Anyways, I've thrown a lawnchair one time. I was pissed because I was mowing my lawn, and the mower just freaked out and started smoking, so I took the plastic lawnchair, hurled at a peach tree and the 2 back legs just kind of shattered. T'was wicked.

Ho-Why the hell would you want that???

Check out Opiate if you want more simplistic stuff. I'm sure you have, but you can use it for your simple Tool listens. :p

Kage 05-26-2005 10:13 PM

Haha, that's actually not a bad pun. Granted, the softball number isn't quite the same.

Mowing the lawn with a faulty mower is one of the worst things in the world. It just adds insult to injury.

Check out his freaking top tracks!

Moses 05-26-2005 10:18 PM

****.

Kage 05-26-2005 10:19 PM

Jesus...he must have a playlist going while he's not on the computer or something...no one spends that much time on the computer, I hope.

I don't listen to Tool much on the computer, because I don't ahve any of their full albums on the computer, and I find that I enjoy them much more when I listen to a full album as opposed to a few single songs.

Huber 05-26-2005 11:02 PM

That's nuts....

Magicaltroll 05-26-2005 11:03 PM

Well... It is over a year. So yeah, I don't know.

I like the guys music tastes though. For the most part.

EDIT-I just noticed that his whole track list for this week was Tool... Holy ****

Huber 05-26-2005 11:09 PM

Yeah, he has to be leaving his music playing at all times. That'd be too outrageous.

Chu 05-26-2005 11:25 PM

That's pretty much me, but replace the top 3 bands with Dream Theater, Megadeth and Metallica :p

I just leave my music playing constantly, I have found it's difficult to sleep without music :p

danur 05-27-2005 12:22 AM

hahaha ok what was up with the tool cover of No Quarter?
I do not think that this was necessary

clearvision 05-27-2005 03:58 AM

I think it's one of the best songs they have ever done.

So atmospheric.

kurrpt 05-27-2005 06:58 AM

TOoL - Demon cleaner ????????????

TOoL - Merkaba....is that on laterualus, what the hell

clearvision 05-27-2005 07:05 AM

Demon cleaner is a Kyuss song tool covered live, it can be found on some bootlegs along with other live covers such as peachs spasm.

Tool - Merkaba is on the CD that comes with the boxset salival, released in between lateralus and aenima, the boxset contains a CD with reworked live versions of push!t and third eye, a live version of part of me, a cover of Led Zep's no quarter, new song's merkaba, maynards d!ck and LAMC (kinda a joke though). The boxset also contains a DVD with all of tool's videos prior to the release of salival on it. It is very rare and is available on Ebay for quite high prices. You can download the CD, it's well worth checking out.

Adam Jones is GOD 05-27-2005 07:26 AM

Read through for more Tool rumours

http://www.theprp.com/

God bless the mailing list.
It brigns 2 rumours together at least, and makes it sound semi possible

kurrpt 05-27-2005 07:30 AM

yea i have salival (burned), but i dont have a track listing ...thanks

u ever hear the extra verse for prison sex off of 3rd leg? (bootleg)

Adam: You have a link for TOoL powertabs. I just installed it at home and am real excited to check 'em out. Thanks for that lateralus tab the other day. Took me like 10 minutes to get it down pat

clearvision 05-27-2005 08:16 AM

Teleincision, that was rumoured to be the album name a while back... I see

NP : DT - Octavarium

I sense JoZ will be angry with this one :( Basically a whole album of surrounded/another day with a couple of good songs thrown in...after first listen anyways...title track is ok, bit of a mission though.
