Nepenthe 04-30-2011 04:46 PM

it's pretty much 3750 or bust for me with acacia strain

witchxrapist 04-30-2011 04:53 PM

3750 and Continent are their best, The Dead Walk kind of grew on me.

...And Life Is Very Long is just so nostalgic and shit for me. Plus, Sloth Loves Chunk is sick.

Nepenthe 04-30-2011 05:16 PM

fucking sun poison and skin cancer man

witchxrapist 04-30-2011 05:16 PM

yo why the fuck is vincent talking about putting someone in a barrel at the end of 3750?

Nepenthe 04-30-2011 05:19 PM

Dimmu Burger 04-30-2011 06:55 PM
This may be old news in this thread, but is it bad that a snobby metal elitist like myself loves The Acacia Strain's "Wormwood"? What's your guys' thoughts on that record?
I like Continent better, but I still enjoy it a lot.

MalleusMaleficarum 04-30-2011 07:28 PM

Dead Walk is pretty dece

Nepenthe 04-30-2011 07:35 PM

listening to one or 2 songs at a time off dead walk is great but yeah going through the whole thing is a chore

witchxrapist 04-30-2011 08:48 PM

I can honestly listen to their whole discography all the way through, but I generally skip out mid Wormwood.

Well I deleted their demo cause it's not very good.

burtreynolds 04-30-2011 10:34 PM

wormwood is weak. 3750 and continent is the best.

dr. doom is my favorite.

Prior to their set at past weekend's Bamboozle Festival, Veil Of Maya was in Washington D.C. demoing new tracks with friend and labelmate, Misha Mansoor (Periphery) for their untitled, new record.

Guitarist Marc Okubo comments: "The tracks we are demoing are coming out amazing and gives me the chills! We have spent lots of time on the road with Periphery and now working with Misha is an added bonus. He is beyond a genius and understands our focus for this next record. Things are faster, more technical and beyond any of our efforts thus far. We are also all really excited to go back overseas and play a full set for everyone over there. It's a great line-up, so make sure you check the dates and come rage with us."

The band will take the summer off to finish writing and recording the effort, due out this fall via Sumerian Records. Drummer Sam Applebaum adds, "We can't wait for everyone to hear what we have been working on. We plan to make this the most over the top and best Veil Of Maya record yet. We will be hitting the road in the fall, so get stoked for a sick ass tour that will be a party every single night."

botb 05-09-2011 11:32 PM
