wtf with the blood ceremony hatin'?
I don't like their music and as I said they're back-stabbing wankers. I think that's enough reasons to slag them off.

FatalEnergy 01-06-2009 03:52 AM

I think they're great, but like I said not exactly doom.

How are they back-stabbers?

Jondur 01-06-2009 05:03 AM

Signed to Shadow Kingdom Records (check them out they've got some fantastic records out), let them spend money on artwork and promotion, then buggered off to Rise Above records leaving SK records well out of pocket. Of course SK are a very small label so can't afford to sue them.

Lee Dorian knew about them being signed to SK as well so he is also a twat.

This is the underground - you should at least attempt to do the right thing.

jrowa001 01-06-2009 04:53 PM

theyre canadians, what do you expect? i love Blood Ceremony though

Txus 01-06-2009 05:13 PM

Yeah, they make good music.

RetiredAt21 01-06-2009 09:58 PM

Sown are the Seeds of Doom is such an awesome song.

RouteOne 01-06-2009 11:38 PM

yeah just listened to them today and I like them. In fact I know very little about doom in general, what are some of the more well known doom bands that are good? Warning perhaps?

gmoneyguy 01-06-2009 11:40 PM

You'll probably really like Reverend Bizarre.

RouteOne 01-06-2009 11:41 PM

I'll check them out.

Would acid bath sort of be considered doom-ish?

gmoneyguy 01-06-2009 11:42 PM

what about crowbar and buzzov-en?

pate 01-06-2009 11:54 PM

Not doom.

Angmar 01-06-2009 11:55 PM

Dude, listen to Nightfall by Candlemass, now!

gmoneyguy 01-06-2009 11:55 PM

buzzov-en is sludge. I've never listened to crowbar

RouteOne 01-06-2009 11:56 PM

whats the difference between sludge and doom? The pace of the songs/vocals?

pate 01-07-2009 12:00 AM

Sludge usually either has a swamp vibe or a punk vibe. And harsher vocals than true doom.

RouteOne 01-07-2009 12:01 AM

Oh, ok. I'm a newb :[

heylelshalem 01-07-2009 12:05 AM
buzzov-en is sludge. I've never listened to crowbar
crowbar is a bit repetitive but still really badass!

heylelshalem 01-07-2009 12:09 AM

/\ link to one of my favorite crowbar songs /\

FatalEnergy 01-07-2009 12:31 AM

Is The River any good?

I'm thinking about checking out Drawing Down the Sun.

pate 01-07-2009 12:47 AM

Good band, especially that drummer...

jrowa001 01-07-2009 12:47 AM

i like The River. they have some boring parts but i like the vocals

Nostalgia 01-07-2009 01:40 AM

The drummer is uncoordinated as ****. Surprised they even let him play.

Jondur 01-07-2009 03:06 AM

Your collective mothers.

Anyway I didn't play on that album. So there. Vocalist has left now anyway. The last album with her singing will be out in the next couple of months.

Thread also needs Solstice.

Nostalgia 01-07-2009 03:16 AM

Did you ever find out if Tom Phillips is doing vocals for Solstice? I'd love to hear that.

You played on Transfiguration, didn't you? Still listen to that album. Our Final Autumn is a great song.

Jondur 01-07-2009 04:52 AM

He's not. A Chap called Adrian from Canada is. There's rough demos with him singing on their Myspace. He's good.

I did play on Transfiguration and A Walk Through Oceans and I've just done their new one. I'm glad you like Transfiguration although Our Final Autumn has to be one of my least favourite Unsilence songs! Interestingly (or not), the uptempo bit is the first riff I ever wrote for the band! I did a gig with them late last year and we played The Gallery - which was fun.

ATM 01-07-2009 12:40 PM

So I booked Lair of the Minotaur to play the radio station the Thursday before Maryland Death Fest, but in order to book OM I would need over 4,000 dollars :(

I also emailed The Thrones manager and they won't be on the East coast until May.
