Well, it was more of a general Disturbed thread, I thought, it'll die soon enough. You don't have to take the 'No favourite threads' rule to strictly either. It only counts for overdone things really.

Who's your favourite Folk Metal band from Zimbabwe shouldn't really be closed. Still, it's not a bad idea to avoid favourite threads as it limits the matter to discuss, general threads about bands or styles are a lot better. :)

The Flabbit Rides High 08-30-2005 08:39 AM

Ok cool,

But (to me atleast) the rule is a bit vague, and ive been around for a awhile. To a noob, this might be really difficult.

Maybe this should be something we should look into with the forum rules. I mean, like u said, if we are to strict, we limit the topics, but if we let some through, we can possibly get issues with spam.

(sigh) the responsiblities of a forum mod. :P

BTW, Superpeer, I can remember you becoming mod. Long time ago. :P

superpeer 08-30-2005 08:54 AM

I just close what I think is bad. I leave open brilliant threads who are technically against the rules and I can close stupid threads who are supposedly legal.

And I remember you being a pain in the ass. I banned you a couple of times, I think.

Don't spam up this thread, take it to the community thread.

Phobophile 08-30-2005 02:25 PM

Would it be possible to re-do a Gwar thread? I think it was a good idea at least trying to get them one. The one that was just turned into a flamefest. But how would you feel about another one more "controlled" and one about recommendations. Just because I think Gwar is actually worthy of a thread due to their influence on thrash and shock rock, and the fact that they are actually very brilliant musicians.

Basically what I am saying is that I wanted to(or someone else) to make another attempt at a Gwar thread, but didn't want to be annoyance/spammer about it due to the fact that one Gwar thread was made just a little while ago.

If you make a general thread on Gwar then there'll be no problem with it. Just fill it with some info and discussion topics.
The other one got shut because it should have been in the recommendations thread, and had some flaming.
