perriwinkle 09-11-2007 07:25 PM
A&I, should I see Built to Spill? I was invited by a bunch of cool people and I need friends, but I'm having a hard time throwing down money to see a band I really don't care about.
yes dude you should. download You In Reverse and listen to it a few times though

pulseczar 09-11-2007 08:07 PM

niobium 09-11-2007 08:23 PM

i was going to go see boris/michio kurihara/damon & naomi in milwaukee next month, but the show is 21+. i hate that.

i hate it when **** like that happens. i was going to see The Field but the show got moved to a 21+ venue

sexymuffin 09-11-2007 08:42 PM

tbh if i was over 21 i wouldn't want to go to a show with a bunch of high schoolers either

YDload 09-11-2007 08:53 PM

yeah what kind of high school kid listens to alt/indie rock anyway? high school is for metal because your taste is immature and unrefined and you just want to \m/ as hard as possible

perriwinkle 09-11-2007 08:58 PM

^^^ very true

MMMEEGGAAADDEEEEEETTTHHHHH!!!!!!!

dei 09-11-2007 08:59 PM

I liked "indie" bands in high school.

YDload 09-11-2007 09:00 PM

youre still in high school

Thanks 09-11-2007 09:02 PM

All music venues should be all ages, and all bands should feel offended if someone tries to limit those which fans can see them play.

YDload 09-11-2007 09:05 PM

what's the exact reason for it anyway? i know 21+ makes it more efficient to serve drinks at the bar without having to check IDs, but what about 18+ ?

dei 09-11-2007 09:05 PM
youre still in high school
I'm in college.

if the artist smokes cigarettes on stage they are afraid of the influence it might have on young'ns

plane 09-11-2007 09:16 PM

Then there's those 18+ or 21+ shows where the band members are younger than that so they have to wait outside until they're on stage.

YDload 09-11-2007 09:21 PM

they should have made an exception for Tommy Stinson he was always good

perriwinkle 09-11-2007 10:12 PM

man... im really not impressed with the new DJ Shadow so far..

i'm about 6 tracks through.. on "Seein' Thangs" featuring MC Gay

oooooooooooooh the end of Backstage Girl is awesome. this song is good

margin0walker 09-11-2007 10:51 PM

usually if you know the people at the venues they understand and they'll try to help you out

YourBiggestFan 09-11-2007 11:07 PM

I'm in highschool. I've never really had a problem with getting into shows though- it's rare theres one thats 21+ only around here.

margin0walker 09-11-2007 11:49 PM

well thats why you dont have a problem getting into shows

niobium 09-11-2007 11:53 PM
tbh if i was over 21 i wouldn't want to go to a show with a bunch of high schoolers either
i'm 18 and in college now but what if i were 20

Ha it's alright, it was Leyendecker.

The sound was all ****ed up the first half of the show, and we had a crunch on music in the beginning, so it's alright.

Montana 09-12-2007 07:08 PM

I'm doing my first practice session at the radio station tomorrow at 6am. We don't have a web stream, sadly.

Eliminator 09-12-2007 07:09 PM

cool

Robert Crumb 09-12-2007 08:23 PM

I haven't decided if I'm going to do a show this semester, but if I do, I'm going to pretend I'm schizo.

Eliminator 09-12-2007 08:27 PM

are you gonna finish that defeatism

Robert Crumb 09-12-2007 08:39 PM

Finish your defeatism or no dessert
