You're so lucky. Only a few of teahcers in my school have ever commented on my Jimi Hendrix or Led Zeppelin t-shirts.

Actually I had a science teacher, well more like an assistant teacher for a few months who was into classic rock. He used to call me John, Ringo, Keith, or Mitch cause I told him I was a drummer.

lunch998 10-18-2004 03:14 PM

Classic rock lets you relate with older people. All my dad's friends see my Zep shirt and they say "Oh man Stairway to Heaven is such a great song." I just smile and nod but in my head I'm thinking "Wow this person was around when Zeppelin was and they are still a Zeppelin Noob."

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 10-18-2004 03:36 PM

List:
Heroin, Velvet Underground
White Rabbit, Jefferson Airplane
Harvest Moon, Neil Young
Cinaminn Girl, CSN&Y

i have a couple teachers who are into good music, although some are still nerdy. my math teacher is the hugest stones fan you will ever see, he has their posters all over his room, and he named his kid Jagger.
my creative writing teacher is a beatnik pothead, shes cool and we talk about bob dylan a lot.

edit- oh a cd, i understand.

jpj 10-18-2004 03:54 PM

Hendix-Freedom and VooDoo Chile

EDIT:You guys are lucky. All of my teachers are so old their generation came before classic rock.

thickasabrick 10-18-2004 04:01 PM

Steve Miller-Shubada Du Ma Ma

thickasabrick 10-18-2004 04:25 PM

i remember when i used to make cds, i would always spend like two hours picking the right songs to fit the maximum amount of songs i like on one cd, and right when i tried to burn them, my computer would shut down. it was so frustrating.

i made a cd the other day with i think eight songs taking up an eighty minute disc.

BludgeonySteve 10-18-2004 04:26 PM

Get...

Neil Young- Mansion On The Hill
Lynard Skynard- That Smell
The Allman Brothers- Gambler's roll

*helped*

You should download "The Same Old Rock" Its got a badass Jimmy page solo(acoustic) with absolutly amazing lyrics.

thickasabrick 10-18-2004 04:30 PM

hey i noticed the band Canned Heat was on the classic rock bands poll...
i have only heard one song of theirs and i liked it, and they were one of jim morrisons favourite bands..does anyone know some more good songs of theirs.

im not sure which song i have heard, he sings falsetto kinda (although he may always do that for all i know) and it has a flute type thing in it

Is It Roy Harper?

drugstore cowboy 10-18-2004 04:44 PM

speaking of teachers, my american history teacher is an old hippie as well...wears "colourful" shirts and ties...he quote the stage announcements from woodstock.."you've got to know that the man beside you is your brother, and you **** well treat him that way"...calls me "jimi" =p and some other girl in our class "tina" as in turner...

joe cocker - a little help from my friends
the who - naked eye
csny - country girl...awesome harmonies
as long as we're talking about the Dead =p...Casey Jones

BludgeonySteve 10-18-2004 04:46 PM

I wish I had a hippie teacher. I bet he would let me listen to The Grateful Dead in class.
