I never really liked Cage much, TBQH.

It's OK, I forgive you...

The new Kamelot is great as expected :thumb:

Iron Bars 04-28-2007 02:04 AM

The sample track that was sent out a few weeks back was pretty good. When is the complete album going to be sent (via DU)?

Shattered_Future 04-28-2007 10:17 AM

I could send it, maybe, if I feel like it. Or I could just steal the link from the blog.

It's on there somewhere.

Superfly 05-02-2007 05:25 AM

What does everyone think of Sonata's latest single 'Paid in full'?

Video is crap.

Shattered_Future 05-02-2007 03:02 PM

I think the new album is kinda disappointing. There's some great tracks, but there's equally as many bad ones...

Tyler 05-02-2007 03:46 PM

So the new Kamelot is absolutely boring.

Discuss.

pate 05-02-2007 03:54 PM

I like it.

Tyler 05-02-2007 03:56 PM

I found it so boring and thought their singer sounded like a drag queen. I've never really gotten into them either but I still loved Black Halo.

pate 05-02-2007 04:00 PM

But his voice didn't bother you on TBH? I think he sounds more like a woman on it than the new one.

GO is like a darker, less catchy TBH, but I still like it. I probably like TBH more though.

Tyler 05-02-2007 04:02 PM

His voice bothers me in general, he sings like a broadway drag-queen and I can't stand it, but the music on the new album reflects it because it seems to try way too hard to be all intense and moody.

Shattered_Future 05-02-2007 04:35 PM

I love Khan's vocals, personally. I think he has one of the best voices in the scene, even if he does vibrato it at the end of every phrase.

The new album is kinda disappointing though, especially in the later tracks.

Tyler 05-02-2007 04:37 PM

He has a good voice but I don't think he's a good singer, if that makes sense. I just really dislike that style of singing, and yeah, a lot of it has to do with the vibrato.

pate 05-02-2007 05:09 PM

He's one of my handful of favorite singers.

Deth 05-02-2007 06:53 PM
darker, less catchy TBH, but I still like it. I probably like TBH more though.
That. Usually I prefer my power metal catchy though, so I'm biased.

The new Cage friggin' rocks. Especially the title track. Such a strong way to open an album.

Stormrider 05-05-2007 07:32 AM

I downloaded Edguy's Mandrake a couple of days ago. Havn't listened to it yet, but it better be good. A lot people say it's their best.

There are no weak tracks, Sean Peck is just awesome on this album...

..and I went back and listed to Heed - The Call and am not as impressed with them, I think the 2007 demo is way better than that album

Mikesn 05-05-2007 08:04 AM

I don't really like Edguy, but Mandrake is definitely the best of the three albums I've heard from them

Pharaoh = In top 3 best Edguy songs ever. The rest of the album's good too.

Agree. Still love 'arrows fly' from ToS though.

Stormrider 05-05-2007 04:36 PM

I think I'm starting to lose interest in a lot of power metal. I mean, I gave the album a listen, and was out of it after like 3 songs :-/

pate 05-05-2007 09:04 PM

I don't like many of the "essential" power bands...like Lost Horizon. I mainly like power/thrashy stuff, like IE or Winters Bane or something.

But, then again, I still love Kamelot, Edguy and Falconer, so whatever. :p

Stormrider 05-05-2007 09:12 PM

I really need to give Falconer another listen.

That, and I need to give The Black Halo a listen.

Nepenthe 05-05-2007 09:31 PM

Falconer is about the only one I still like, and just for Kris Gobel's vocals.

The Coronation /drool

Superfly 05-06-2007 01:00 AM

Who was the first singer who's back again in falconer?

Iron Bars 05-06-2007 06:57 AM

Mathias Blad. I'm not listening to alot of power metal lately (just Slough Feg) but I'm still looking forward to seeing Falconer at Wacken.

Stoic 05-06-2007 07:26 AM

Or you just need to give up on euro power metal young Jammie and give traditional metal a chance >->

Stormrider 05-06-2007 07:27 AM

Lawl, like Manowar ?

:p
