I love that show.

SantaDuJuan 06-10-2006 10:40 AM

I hate it.
I've been listening to Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon on repeat since about midnight last night, which makes it thirteen hours straight of this album, both asleep and awake. Why am I not tired of it? Because it's the best album ever compiled.
I'm a big Pink Floyd fan, and I seem to be one the ones who doesn't think DSOTM is overrated. I think it's still an amazing recording after 33 years.

Ghostfire3 06-10-2006 11:37 AM

I don't think DSOTM is over rated either but Wish You Were Here is my alltime favorite. Great stuff. I hardly listen to Pink Floyd or Classic Rock anymore though.

Double negative.

Sam 06-10-2006 02:23 PM

DangerDoom is so lame.

Liebensaft 06-10-2006 03:10 PM

Erik Petersen last night was good. That's the third time I've seen him though, so I was really looking forward to Evan Greer, whom I've never seen. For whatever reason, he was listed on the Mischief Brew site, and the calendar on the site for the venue, but....just wasn't there.

There was really cool political hip-hop before it too.

Angry Balled Fists! 06-10-2006 03:11 PM

gawd, i'd love to see Erik.

Liebensaft 06-10-2006 03:12 PM

I would say The Wall is more overrated than Dark Side of The Moon. I still think it's amazing that it is said that 1/14 people in America under 50 owns that record. Where I live most family homes seem to at least have the double LP floating around the house somewhere.

coheneran 06-10-2006 05:40 PM

The Wall and Dark Side are pretty incomparable. The Wall is dark, brooding and uncomfortably truthful, Dark Side is happy, emotional, exploratory, a celebration of life and death. Animals, on the other hand, is pretty fucking weird. It's full of regret and repressed anger, and speaks of betrayal and revenge.

It's incredible the amount of insight shrooms give you into music, especially Floyd. I must say, I don't particularly like the band members themselves, but their creations are literally out of this world. They are so divine.

Brain Toad 06-10-2006 05:46 PM

I stole my dad's The Wall CD

coheneran 06-10-2006 05:52 PM

Punk as fuck, Nick.

Brain Toad 06-10-2006 05:57 PM

I also gave my cousin whos into pop and pop-rap Dark Side of the Moon as a gift since she liked it while listening to it in my CD player.

coheneran 06-10-2006 06:20 PM

Awww.

I got Christ: The Bootleg (Crass, duh!) today at a punkrock record fair/exchange. It was fun, but the recording sucks. On Big A Little A, I swear that he skips every other/third line or something. My mp3 recording is way better.

Rise Me Up 06-10-2006 07:19 PM

lolz crass suck. lolz.

ibanezman575 06-10-2006 07:27 PM

theyre music sucks but Crass is cool
i dont know how that is possible
but it is

And Piper At The Gates Of Dawn is just like WOOOOAH PSYCHEDELIA ITT

Sam 06-10-2006 09:15 PM

I own pretty much every Pink Floyd album up to the Wall, and I have to say DSOTM is still my favorite.

Joel_DK_Clash 06-10-2006 09:30 PM

I like Meddle the best. I like their stuff with Dave up untill DSOTM.

Brain Toad 06-10-2006 09:40 PM

I saw the van for that website today.

Apparently John Lennon was shot by Stephen King who was working under the orders of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan.

The Nixon/Reagan thing I get, but the whole involvement of King makes no sense other then he looks like like Mark Chapman.

coheneran 06-11-2006 04:34 AM

No, the real John Lennon wasn't shot, he was teleported to a lizardmen spaceship, cloned, the clone sent down to Earth to get shot, and the real John Lennon is on Alpha Centauri making music, peace and moonshine.

good rats 06-11-2006 05:09 AM

It's true.

I go a free big mac today.

coheneran 06-11-2006 06:23 AM

You disgust me.
