Go, Go, Go, Go, It's your birthday, so we're gonna party like it's your birthday... /does crazy 'in the sky' pull ups.. :p |
Clapton is a very emotional player, but he doesn't really try new things anymore...But Murray is a very experimental guitarists, he tries a lot of new styles .etc but he does only use the same key over and over and over over again...
Aren't most Iron Maiden songs in E minor? I can think of a few that aren't (DOM, NML, Journeyman and DoD, specifically). In fairness, Dave does do his Paschendale solo in C# minor. |

In fairness, Dave does do his Paschendale solo in C# minor.
Yeah E minor...I thought Adrians solo was in C# Minor. There are over 100 Maiden songs, most are in E minor. |
I thought Powerslave and 2 Minutes to Midnight were in A minor (Powerslave is A Phrygian or whatever the "egyptian" sounding mode is called).

Phrygian is a mode not a key...that's all I can remember about Modes... :upset: |
Just out of curiosity how many people in here would consider themselves religous? Seeing as there is some controversy about how Maiden is the "Devils Music" (Stupid if you ask me)
|
Methoughts Lochrian was the 'egyptian' mode
|
Gotta find out what mode powerslave is in its so cool :D
|
Whilst most maiden songs probably are in E minor, most of them modulate during the course of the song.
|
Aye there is a lot of changing Modage...though they tend to stick to Aeolian methinks...

search on a P2P program for "50 Pence", he's a british spoof of 50 Cent. i dont like hip hop / rap but 50 pence is hilarious. get "in da pub" and "P.I.N.T" and on the religious thing: i believe in god, but thats about as far as it goes. EDIT: ash and eddie both have 900 posts in this thread!!! |
I thought of something that I don't think we've ever done before...you know we got all these 'What's your fave song' .etc, well how about favourite interlude thing...like that bit after the solo on BNW and on Rainmaker.
Mine is on Weekend warrior...I love that kind of stuff... |
interlude.. thats like the ddadadadada dudelidudeli dodododododod dudelidudeli on Hallowed right? :p
Thats my fav... |
interlude.. thats like the ddadadadada dudelidudeli dodododododod dudelidudeli on Hallowed right? :p
Thats my fav...
Yeah that's one. It is a good 'un, bloody difficult on the bass, my fingers don't stretch that far :upset: |

Thats my fav...
Well Hallowed is kind of weird because it doesn't have a traditional song structure. So where IS the interlude there? If you mean the part after all of the lyrics and before the solo (where it picks up and starts going faster), or the guitar harmonies between verses, then I like either one of those. |
Yeah that's one. It is a good 'un, bloody difficult on the bass, my fingers don't stretch that far :upset:
What you mean stretch? there are no Stretches in that song? show me(in tabs or something) exactly what you mean? |

ah... i have never had problems with that.. but im rather big guy(around 190cm, well maby not that big..), so i guess my hands match that...
|
Well I'm only about 5ft 9...don't know in cm. But my hands are kinda small, but for some reason I have no problem shredding on a guitar...
|
its smaller, that might be it :p Dave Mustaine fingers had been nice..:p they are 'kin long!
im 6.23 feet apparently... |
Now playing: Phantom of the Opera. Now THAT'S a song with some kickass interludes!

Normally it's spelled "awesome" but I'll let it slide because you can play that song in its entirety at a live pace. Also, I played along with the song Iron Maiden and discovered that I was actually playing it FASTER than it really is on the album. So it's good that I was learning to play it quicker because that's probably what the live version is like, but bad because I really wasn't that good at playing it faster. |
