hello thread, i just have a few quick questions

i was browing though ytsejamrecords, and i noticed that they put up the Dark Side of the Moon dvd. i haven't heard anything, but how is it? how's petrucci sound pulling off gilmore solos?

ive also been debating picking up the Majesty demo. what's the good word there? i doubt i could go wrong with a track list like this:
9. Anti-Procrastination Song (0:13)
10. Your Majesty (3:56)
11. Solar System Race Song (0:17)
12. I'm About To Faint Song (0:09)
13. Mosquitos In Harmony Song (0:12)
14. John Thinks He's Randy Song (0:10)
15. Mike Thinks He's Dee Dee Ramone Introducing A Song Song (0:16)
16. John Thinks He's Yngwie Song (0:15)

i think the metropolis story pretty much concluded with part 2.

I haven't heard the demo or the DSOTM cover. I have heard good things about the DSOTM DVD and CD though

i remember them saying they're "big fans of the floyd" on one of the dvd's... so hopefully they do it justice. they busted into Have a Cigar during peruvian skies when i saw them (i hear this is common, though), and that whole section was commendable

i'll just go order it. (almost) no DT is bad Dt

i have LTE 1 and enjoy it, but people told me LTE 2 sucks... horribly (aside from Acid Rain). is there any truth to that?

They are big fans of Floyd and other early prog rock bands. They always do a great job with the music they play so you won't feel like you wasted a penny.

When did you see them?

No. LTE2 is pretty good too.

in Chicago for the 20th anniversary show. got my shirt and everything :thumb:

it was the show with the Anthrax drummer as a special guest. that was just amazing

i'm new to the site, but ive been lurking forever a few times a month... this little thread is actually why i got into DT 2 years ago

so i now have an unhealthy amount of DT trivia in my head, so i know about DT's fascination with yes, rush, marillion, etc. i love how they always acknowledge those who came before

yea it actually does somewaht. a lot of the themes and melodies from SFAM are borrowed from that one song.

no truth at all. in my opinion, LTE 2 is much better. but im a fan of more laid-back kinda songs as well, like hourglass and liquid dreams.
i just feel like there's a better sense of...grooviness in the entire album. and plus, when the water breaks is an amazing song
