Rusty holds back a ton with Outworld compared to his solo stuff, so I can tolerate it.

Tyler 04-16-2007 04:03 PM

It's still pretty unnecessary, and beyond his shred there's really nothing interesting about them.

pate 04-16-2007 06:37 PM

I like the vocals.

Verikansa 04-16-2007 09:35 PM

after all this time i cant understamd how people find shred boring, i dont mind the new stuff, i thought there vocalist was angras vocalist but it wasnt (although they sound kinda similar)

Tyler 04-16-2007 09:54 PM

i cant understand how people find shred interesting. i dont like technicians pretending to be musicians by playing a bunch of notes really fast.

Verikansa 04-16-2007 10:12 PM

I was't aware they where technicians, i find it interesting because i dont see it as playing notes really fast, and there just plain fun to listen too although guitar shredding is getting a little annoying.

Stormrider 04-17-2007 12:50 PM

I don't listen to shred very often, in fact, very rarely. I'll listen to it while watching a video, or someone showing me something, as those are entertaining, but I wouldn't sit down and listen to it for a long time.

Verikansa 04-17-2007 06:28 PM

I can't listen to stuff like Rusty Cooley but i absolutely love Michael Romeo's shredding, very tastefully done and in moderation.

Tyler 04-17-2007 06:32 PM

That's because Michael Romeo doesn't blindly shred.

ArcLite 04-17-2007 07:31 PM

Oh man, gonna be a sweet late summer.

July - Symphony X
August - Kamelot
September - Edguy

Good stuff.

Verikansa 04-17-2007 09:53 PM

im pissed about the wintersun but Symphony X and Kamelot will more than make up for that.

i just realized how compleltely awsome Masquerade 98 is....i have that same harpsichord sound as Pinella does, learning time.

Whoa. Almost the same as me.

CEPT WE GET SYMPHONY X ON MAY 25TH!!!

Deth 04-18-2007 07:28 PM

I don't get any of those bands...

pate 04-18-2007 08:09 PM

All 3 are amazing.

I can't make it to Sym X or Kamelot though :(:(

Riva 04-19-2007 08:35 AM

Heed is great. Daniel handles harsh vocals better than I'd though. Sure it's a bit more generic and a bit less flashy when compared to Lost Horizon, but it's still a quality band.

MetalOz 04-20-2007 08:51 PM

Listening to the Heed Demo 2007 now... I'm not a big melodic death metal fan because I don't like the harsh vocals much. Heed sounds to me like a cross between In Flames and Lost Horizon, all the elements of MDM that I like plus I like my power metal more guitar driven with less keyboards anyway...

I like it much better than Lost Horizon... sorry Riva :(

Shattered_Future 04-20-2007 09:21 PM

I don't like Heed. The music bores the crap out of me, and the vocals aren't good enough coming from a guy who hits some of the highest notes I've ever heard.

Verikansa 04-20-2007 10:04 PM

Adam lopez has the highest pitch vocals ever, its insane he soulds like a whistle/little girl.

the guy from heeds got pretty good vocals though.

he may be pop but thats ****in insane.

Shadows Within 04-25-2007 09:38 PM

Ok new Kamelot album leaked whats everyones thoughts im only on number 3 (ghost Opera) ands its insanely good so far.

number 4's very different than the normal kamelot.

edit: god whats up with mid-tempo songs first sonata arctica now Kamelot, i mean its good but i have this this with mid-tempo...

atleast its epic.

pate 04-26-2007 08:26 AM

It's good stuff.

Superfly 04-26-2007 09:15 AM

We never get power metal bands coming to singapore, so now that dragonforce is coming I'm damn excited..... even though I don't like them much

Superfly 04-26-2007 09:17 AM

Edguy are awesome... anybody listen to Sammet's side project Avantasia?

pate 04-26-2007 09:18 AM

Yeah, but I like Edguy a lot more.

Superfly 04-26-2007 10:07 AM

I'm not digging a lot of their new stuff on rocket ride

Shattered_Future 04-26-2007 11:30 AM

On the topic of new Kamelot...I like it. I don't think it's as good as The Black Halo, but it's pretty damn good. It's a lot darker than their previous stuff...I think they managed to pull off the dark vibe without compromising their musical style, unlike Sonata Arctica.

pate 04-26-2007 11:58 AM

At the moment, I like it more than TBH, but that will probably change somehow.

Deth 04-26-2007 12:11 PM

It's a really good album and I'm suprised on how well the really dark atmosphere works, but I doubt that I'm going to rank it ahead of TBH.

Shadows Within 04-26-2007 12:23 PM

last 3 post is my thoughts mainly. Except i don't like the way they do the darkness/atmosphere.

MetalOz 04-26-2007 12:25 PM

I am just now d/ling the Kamelot but on the subject of leaks, anyone else liking the new Cage album? It's like a cross between Jag Panzer and Iced Earth, 78 minutes and no filler songs...

pate 04-26-2007 12:39 PM

Ooh..you just sold me on it. I'll try it out.
