I'm about to make a stave shell, but I don't have a lathe. it might be possible that I could use one at someone else's workshop but I was wondering: could I just use a wood file and sandpaper instead of a lathe? i know it would be a ton of work but does anyone know if i could succeed this way?

eh, i can see how some people like it.
i tried it once, and it felt cool, and i broke into a laughing fit, that was funny.
but that was for like 10 minutes, and the other 4 hours, we sat on my friends couch and did nothing. it was quite boring.

On the subject, my long time friend finally stopped smoking and i saw him pass up the opportunity to smoke for the first time in a year. Very proud of him. He also stopped smoking cloves (cigarettes but with added tar and ****). My other friend vowed with the first friend to stop smoking everything besides hookah but later that night he broke that. He's still smoking but he says he can stop but i highly doubt it.

yea, my friend has really got it bad, he smokes everything. its only been like 7 months, and he is already coughing like crazy, he can't run more than like a 1/4 of a mile without stopping, and he aparently coughed up blood a few times.

he is my incentive not to do drugs or cigarettes, cause i dont wanna be like that.

i tried pot a few times when i was 16 and then i realized there wasn't much of a point to it. i hated the fact that i lost a little bit of self-control when i did it. i also didn't like the fact that i usually had forgotten half of what i did when i woke up the next morning. so i stopped. it's something i'll never do again. that's how things usually go with me though. i'll do something incredibly stupid, then realize it's stupid, then never do it again.

edit: also amphetamines won't make you cough up blood but they will seriously screw you up. people die doing stuff like that.

You should find incentive to research the subject then, not make broad and TOTALLY incorrect assumptions.


Smoking Marijuana out of a water pipe has less then 10 carcigens, a cigerette.. has over 1,000 - SLIGHT difference.

Cigerette's have over 100 known deadly chemicals.

Marijuana has non.

Well phet was originally a weight loss drug.

Basically what happens is you get a boost of energy and get a bit more chatty. Plus it heightens your senses and you dont want to eat.

Downsides: If you snort too much it can burn away your septum. Can cause underlying heartproblems to surface.

Not to mention brain problems, cardiovascular and liver issues.


Any drug of that class is going to have drastic negitive effects ratio'd to it's effective dosage.

when i said he does every type of drug, i meant he does every type of drug AND he smoke cigarettes.

and starting the addiction is the persons fault. but when it gets into later stages, the chemicals have been proven to keep them addicted. Pot and booze, not so much. but drugs like heroine and cocaine are highly addictive, and it has been proven.

If you are snorting it, you will blow your nose away at a rate almost triple that of snorting cocaine.

Indeed,, nicotine is one of the most addictive substances on earth, as is heroin and coke.

However it should be noted, there have been many studies done, and it proven that Marijuana contains not chemically addictive substance.

It's purely physcological addiction, putting it in a lower class of addiction then even adrenline. (sky diving, roller coasters, etc)
