Yea but my car died and I can't get there anymore.

Pate and Kage: Same as before. The tour with Destroyx3 and Epicurean, I mean. It got cancelled 3 shows in due to the booking agent being a stupid, lazy, conniving piece of shit. It was completely out of our hands so yeah. Lame city. It was awesome while it lasted.
We're going to be on tour for sure Nov. 23rd - December 16th though... |
Hit me up when you're planning to come here again.

The new episode of Weeds was hilarious.
I seem to remember getting into a very long and repetitive argument with, amongst others, a young man calling himself ripper22 over the merits of the first Alter Bridge album, so I won't dwell on this, but how much better is it than One Day Remains?
Hahaha, I don't think the argument was with you though, but I did have that little flashback upon bringing it up. It sort of freaks me out though that an argument about their first album inspired me to join the forums in the first place and here I am over three years later talking about their second. It's quite a bit better. I mean, when the band matures a little bit more, like after two collaborative albums (maybe by their fourth, I'm thinking) they'll be really tearing it up. EDIT: Mappy, I think you probably don't know what you're talking about mostly because if you've heard any of the music it's off the first album, which wasn't really that good. This is as good as modern mainstream rock can possibly get--a good vocalist, plenty of musically interesting stuff, and one too many anthemic choruses. It's quite enjoyable to me. Besides, Tremonti is probably the only guitar player in mainstream rock that has an instantly recognizable style. |
I got a new job at the library :-x
I tried getting a job as a librarian a few weeks ago, it seems like the perfect job for me, found out I have to go to school and get a degree in "library science". Wtf? Anyway, I'd still like to work in one. Quiet and air conditioned. |

First semester is spent on the various methods of shushing people. |
Why not a job at a book store then?
A job at Chapters or Indigo would seem cool |
The library is closer. Less walking LOL

Lazy

I have a lot of school work, so less commute time the better.

Word. |
wtf lol:
"Feature for feature the M6 kills the same iPod Nano in price and functionality. We have a marketing department that comes up with the buzz words, but these are fantastic devices with no DRM on them like the iPod and iTunes and play a variety of open formats like Ogg Vorbis and FLAC (a CD quality compressed file format), but of which are the file types on www.mindawn.com - I'm a huge proponent of open source software and file formats and I support them with money and development, but I do think you should be paying for the content, but once you own it, you should be able to do whatever you want for your own personal use, convert it, burn it, put it on devices, whatever - as long as it is for you and you aren't making copies for others. My label has been around for 6 years, and we are the 2nd largest in the genre that we work in. My problem is that over the last couple years we are seeing enormous trends in piracy costing our artists a lot of money and they ask me to help do something, so I do. In the past 4 days alone I've had over 100 of our albums removed from various file sharing services, none of which had less than 300 downloads. You guys might want to read my myspace blogs on piracy, I've heard every excuse already and I have an answer for it." Why am I being focused on? |
I cant find any Invisigoth on Oink, ****.
|
Dammit, I was hoping you'd be able to send me their latest tracks.
|
The Invisigoth Ethos: Chapter 1: Rock And Roll Is Dead, But It's Our Only Culture
|
You can both joke, but I'm paranoid right now.
|
I'll have to check that out on www.mindawn.com
Edit: Luc - don't be. The guys just trying to act tough. He's just upset his bands suck yet somehow one of their albums found their way into the DU. So he's looking to take advantage. He seemed like an OK guy at first, but his persistence is getting annoying. |
You can both joke, but I'm paranoid right now.
Did you download any of their music? Did you upload any of their music? No? Then stop worrying. And stop replying. |
I cant find any Invisigoth on Oink, ****.
I requested Alcoholocaust on the daily upload but I don't like my chances :( |
ahahaha
|
You guys are crazy if you're actually scared about this.
|

There are a lot of people on that list who could get in trouble if he contacted the RIAA, who have lovely lawyers looking to exploit tha sort of thing. Kinda glad I get so much music legally I don't need to d/l. |
Wait, what is going on right now?
|
No one really has anything to worry about, plain and simple. He said in the letter that he'd get off everyone's case if the list stopped, and the Daily Upload has been terminated.
|
Some guy from Progrock Records contacted a bunch of us on the DU threatening us to stop or he's going to sue us. Check the DU thread for details and his e-mails.
|
The president of a small record company has contacted a few of us daily uploaders and threatened with legal action if we do not cease sharing links.
|
Oh, okay.
He hasn't sent me any emails. Jeez scared the crap out of me though...and yeah, funny, when I read the story about the woman who got sued to pay 220,000 dollars I was like...better start buying albums again. So over the past week I've bought a Novembers Doom, a Nightwish, and an Alter Bridge album. It's been fun, but yeah, probably not a good idea to do this any more. But for those of you who are really freaked out, don't worry--I once found a forum that was uploading a zillion pr0n movies to rapidshare from sites like bangbros per day (yeah yeah I downloaded some too), and all they got was a cease-and-desist order and a rule change, and now all they do is post ten-second clips. So yeah. Probably nothing will happen. But if something does, god knows the country could use some more white people in jail. :thumb: |
I guess that now if people want to start hearing more new metal they'll just have to start listening to my radio show! <_<
|
I got another e-mail from our friend.
If the way for you to feel good about what you've been doing is to crank call me, then by all means, go ahead. I'm actually part of a network of about 30 labels that are working together (we don't like the RIAA tactics either, but when you need a big hammer because people aren't listening, they just love to get qualified leads) where we are trying to educate and stop piracy where we can so that the music can continue to be made. Don't be too quick to judge Invisigoth either, NY Times best selling SciFi author Kevin J. Anderson loves them, one of his favorite bands, and he's a big fan of our label as well.
Sounds like he doesn't take kindly to our humor. Oh well. My antivirus also reported a blocked virus as soon as I opened the e-mail... that's never happened before. Better not have been from him. |
Who cares if we're poking fun at a band with a really unfortunate name. Given the amount of hits our forums get daily, it's in the groups best interest for a thread to be here, regardless of it's seriousness.

Big Brother is always watching...
sucks to hear about the stomp they put on your trading. Ain't it wierd that you can burn cd's of your buddies computer, but it's illegal o share in other forms. Thanks Lars, thanks a lot. |
lol I have a few Kevin J. Anderson Star Wars novels lying around at home.
