:upset: That's only AUD 70 :upset:
|
So this is why I used to fail maths.
|
 Stupid countries and their stupidass dollars! :p
|
:p
I hate conversion. I've gotten into the habit of saying "USD" instead of "$" as of late. Why? Person: "How much does X bass usually cost on stores?" Me: "X $" Person: "OMGWTF do you mean Aussie dollars, US dollars, British dollars (why they don't realize that I said DOLLARS not POUNDS is beyond me), Italian dollars (again...), <insert other really stupid thing to say>. Of course, my friends don't know what "USD" means so they're like "WTFs a USD???" *sigh* |
I use USD because the 4 key on the top line has gone missing (On UK keybpards that's where the $ sign is)
|
^ It's the same in the US.
$4$4$4$4$4$ We don't have a pound key. I imagine you guys do, though. Right? :p |
yeah, shift 3. I'd be buggered without that
|
#
^my shift+3 |
We actually have a # key. shift and # = ~
|
The worst is when they don't even go that far, and say they want a new bass for 1200.
£? US$? HK$? AU$? Yen? Euros? CA$? We must guess. |
Yeah haha.
Like if I said my new bass is costing 1150, and you assumed it was American, that would be a fair bit hey? |
If I assumed pounds it would be a fair bit more, and I tend to assume pounds.
|
What really bugs me is when I remember that $ means peso, and that a dollar sign is an S with 2 lines through it.
|
An American dollar has two signs through it, Australia's dollar just has one.
|
These past few posts have reminded me that i need a job.
|
Oh man.....
It's too late, I know, but I thought of the best title for this thread. Casual 11: What you screaming for, Kevin? |
*stumbles in, flops onto comfy chair, sips on coffee*
You guys, I just had the most AWESOME weekend. Spent two nights on Bourbon St. in New Orleans partying like I was 21- and realizing I wasn't the morning after. Played an Ibanez SR305 at Guitar Center- it was the only 5 string they had out in my price range- and thought the B was not good, so as far as I'm concerned, no 34" 5 strings for me. But I did like the feel of the bass in general. Liked it MUCH better than my monster P.O.S. Squier, but considering the amount of money we blew in N.O., I won't be ponying up for a new bass for QUITE a while. So anywho, I'm here at work, tired nearly senseless (YAY for caffeine!), and looking forward to heading home in 3 hours. I'll post pictures of the drunken debauchery later (and there was a TON, I tell you). |

Most of these people still live with their folks. :p |
^ Oath.
That's why I'm buying as much gear as possible before I move out, because it's the easiest way to get stuff. When I move out I'll have to spend money on real things, so for now, while my financial situation is pretty sheltered, I get to stock up on the stuff that I hope will one day pay itself off many times over. /Dreams... :( |
:D

Class?! Go to class?! What would you want to do that for?!
I'm gonna be a proper geek and go play dungeons and dragons |

I wish I'd done that. I used to make about $140 a week when I was in High School. If I'd known then what I know now I'd have a cumstom made bass and a Workingman's Rig. |

Of course, if we hadn't tried drinking our way into the poorhouse ($200+ for two of us on Friday alone!) we might not be so broke.... |
haha.. yeah, back at home i was actually saving money to buy things I really needed.. but since I'm in college, all I've been spending money on is alcohol and drugs... oh well, so much for that 5 string. :upset:

yeah, alcohol is bad. It takes money away from other addictions such as bass.
I'm currently about £1,600 in credit with a £1250 overdraftso I got plenty of money... until accomodation and tuition fees go out. that's about £1,000 leaving me with £500ish... fretless bass it is! :D |
My yamaha BBG5A has a 34" scale. It's not bad at all. Worst comes to worse, you could just get a heavier guage B
|
Speaking of wasting money on gear, here is a list of pedals that I want, and these are just the Boss ones I want...
PS-5 Super Shifter * http://www.bossus.com/index.asp?pg=1&tmp=22 SYB-5 Bass Synthesizer * http://www.bossus.com/index.asp?pg=1&tmp=138 DD-6 Digital Delay http://www.bossus.com/index.asp?pg=1&tmp=118 Rv-5 Digital Reverb http://www.bossus.com/index.asp?pg=1&tmp=117 Oc-3 Super Octave http://www.bossus.com/index.asp?pg=1&tmp=130 RC-20 Loop Station http://www.bossus.com/index.asp?pg=1&tmp=24 TR-2 Tremolo http://www.bossus.com/index.asp?pg=1&tmp=13 BF-3 Flanger http://www.bossus.com/index.asp?pg=1&tmp=111 * EV-5 Expression Pedal http://www.bossus.com/index.asp?pg=1&tmp=34 |

Pedals = Lots of sound effects for inadequate bass players.
J/K gassy ;) |

I was really very disappointed in the selection, overall. I won't be going to that Guitar Center again. They had the 305s, and then.... WHAM! On to the Warwicks. I was like WTF???? Although I have no idea of the next time I'll make it to the Cities. Which stinks. |
Hi everyone, what's up?
*así está bien el saludo, Profesor Moxshyfter* :amaze: :) |
Yo diria "Hey" en lugar, pero, es mejor que "Hello".
