Not bad.

The sound of the backbeat on the snare in the semi-blast section around 2:15 is a little inconsistent to my ears though. Each time you hit, it kinda changes pitch like you weren't hitting in the same place each time.

The inconsistency i found was only a small one, and I thought that was the time, once the heavier part started, around the part in the song you mentioned.

The pitch in the drum I thought was consistant

Unless I'm getting my dream theater songs mixed up theres a part of the glass prison where the lyrics are something to the effect of "run fast from the wreckage of the past a shattered glass prison wall behind me".

I just spent like 45 minutes making three view finders.

How would you fix the snare drum sound? keeping in mind its for a metal song.

Yeah the kick has kind of been an ongoing problem for me. I can never seem to get click on it. I mean...using a two ply head, with plastic beaters, and a patch, with the mic 2-3 inches from the head should give a lot of punch and attack, but hey. It's still a lot better than the first mix and recording i did of this song.

Also, thanks everyone else for your input, I'm gonna work on getting my consistency down.

TOT is my favourite album by far.

i like SFaM but idk i mainly like ToT because of the metal aspect of it. It also has most of my favourite songs. Really...the only reason i like 6DOIT more simply because of the glass prison. Like, it's my number one favourite dream theater song.
