Dr. Jake Destructo 06-28-2005 10:33 AM

In addition to those, Stinkfist, Ticks and Leeches, Ænema, perhaps Parabola. I think there are more, but I can't think of what they are at the moment. :p

O_o

Who is doing the T&L scream?

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-28-2005 11:06 AM

Moses/letmypeopleho

I really doubt he's going to use the same method as Maynard did, but it'll still turn out cool, I hope.

Speaking of Ticks & Leeches, I cut the intermission section out, minus 2 measures, and it clocks in a just over 6 minutes. I'm having trouble getting the rythm right for the beginning of the third section, where it's the riff of the middle section, but played an octave higher. If someone could tell me the time signature it's in, it would help a lot. Parts of the song are in 4/4, some are in 7/8..so yeah, clarification would be sweet.
Any uploads i've missed? Apologise for my absence
Nice avatar AJiG :)
Where've you been..Ben. :p

Well, no. :upset: Chris(307) recorded all of Lateralus last night, but he was going to fine tune it today. I'm giving up on The JoZ, so now we have ThePatient and MagicalTroll as our new bassists.

Oh yeah, and I asked Chris 2 days ago to do some guitaring, and he's already got it done almost. He totally deserves a lapdance. :D

So, were you on vacation, or sick, or what?? I was wondering if you had like magically defected from mx. Glad you're back man!
Chris is recording stuff? Sweet, from what i've heard of his work, it should be awesome.

As for my absence, officially my computer finally died and required some work. However, the true reason will remain with me for legal reasons :thumb:

clearvision 06-28-2005 11:12 AM

AJIG @ childpr0n?

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-28-2005 11:17 AM

Ah yes, let the speculation begin.

Adam Jones is GOD 06-28-2005 11:19 AM

Ill give a prize for the funniest rumour

clearvision 06-28-2005 11:21 AM

I'll take the prize for the tr00ist rumour.

Otherside 06-28-2005 11:21 AM

You were angry at the fact that Pink Floyd is playing in England, but you didn't have tickets, so you smashed your computer in with a sledgehammer?

That's what I did anyways :upset:

clearvision 06-28-2005 11:26 AM

I've already given my reason, it's true, therefor i win the truest rumour prize. :)

Otherside you could elaborate...

EG ... AJIG finds out clearvision is going to the gig, but is now not looking forward to it as muse and the cure have been moved and he's only semi-bothered about seeing floyd :)

....plus its all being televised over and over and over, and means I dont have to go miles to see 10 minutes of a few bands I like.

Plus I have REM, InMe and OPETH to look forward to over the next 3 months.

Maybe not as high pitched, but a little crunchier. I've only recorded a scream once and that was a while back before I developed my technique.

clearvision 06-28-2005 11:39 AM

Band of the moment - Coheed and Cambria...such feel good music, kinda progressive too, I compare them to the mars volta....

This song is more of a pop-punky number, they get more progressive, but no-one wants to listen to a 9min sample...

Otherside 06-28-2005 11:47 AM

Didn't like that song very much :\

I don't really see that much of a comparison between them and TMV, except both singers have high voices.

Just not my thing I guess...

clearvision 06-28-2005 11:50 AM

Meh maybe it was the wrong song to choose, they aren't a TMV clone in any way shape or form. They are a pop-punk band but seem to be pretty progressive. Their riffs and high vocals kinda remind me of TMV the vocals are really haunting 'now I'm lost' kinda style.

Moses 06-28-2005 11:54 AM

I like them too. I never was one for the pop-punk stuff, but when that first single came out it was infectious.

Neurotoxin 06-28-2005 12:13 PM

I enjoy Coheed as well. A talented rock band I'd say.

Artemician 06-28-2005 03:42 PM

I like Coheed too. Funny, I thought most people here would hate them.

Artemician 06-28-2005 03:45 PM

Hey, my avatar didn't get screwed up. Alright.

Sorry for the double post.

clearvision 06-28-2005 03:48 PM

Your avatar is screwed up, because it is saved in your temp it wont look like that :)

I just learnt the first part of In keeping secrets of silent earth 3, the song. that riff owns.

BlindWriting 06-28-2005 04:37 PM

I thought he had a Marshal as well as the Diezel and Mesa(s).

Lateralias 06-28-2005 05:42 PM

Anyone know what Adam used to get the Pushit Live tone?... It's one of the best I've ever heard. It's mainly the tone in the intro I'm talking about.. cause I know he throws in more distortion when the chords come in.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-28-2005 05:42 PM

Hey very well could have one, but hey, that list is more thorough than most I've seen.

Oh and for the guy looking for Justin's bass effect(s)- Just get a Digitech BP200. It has more than you need, and they're really a good deal for the amount of stuff you get with it. You get whammy, wah, delay, gain, and a myriad of other crap. Either that, or just save up for New York. I'd much rather have an effects pedal than a trip to New York. That's just me, I have a thing against the city for some reason.

Lateralias- I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say it was his Mesa amp, with about 60-70% gain, and of course, some delay. For the live version, it's less gain, and perhaps a little chorus.

Syncratic 06-28-2005 05:43 PM

I would've thought that Adam used more effects.

Lateralias 06-28-2005 05:45 PM
I would've thought that Adam used more effects.
He does... there is a Tool pic of the floor and there are TONS of pedals and stuff... I don't think they covered all of them in that post.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-28-2005 05:47 PM

That's his basic rig. On Triad, he uses tons more, but typically, that's all he really uses, and needs IMO.

Futuro 06-28-2005 05:52 PM

i know one thing he uses often that was forgotten, a leslie cabinate processor, thats why when there live on all there trippy songs it seems that the speakers are rotating

and my stinkfist sucks so im not uploading :upset:

The JoZ 06-28-2005 05:53 PM

Erh, hi guys.

I know I've promised recordings and re-recordings for a while now. I promise I haven't forgotten, but I've been really busy...but I still really want to do them.

I will endeavor to have some or all of them to you in the next couple of days.

BlindWriting 06-28-2005 05:56 PM

The rumor around this thread was that you were killed in a skydiving accident. Glad to know you're still with us.
