so my brother just got back from his high school field trip to the bahamas at his school for super smart science kids. they spent a week scuba diving the whole day.

turns out he took a dive in one day and ended up face to face with a 4 foot stingray, 2 inches away from his face. i'm fucking jealous.

They're cutting the university teaching budget by [B]80%[/B] research by 25% (despite the fact that it brings far more money INTO the country than gets spent on it, and despite the fact nearly every other country having to make austerity measures are increasing research budgets), the fees for students will be going up 100% (in return for 80% less teaching), yah yah, but you're horrified that BAE systems will get one less order for another fucking pointless toy to make the generals feel big and clever?

Agreed. There are far more pressing economic priorities that aircraft carriers and nuclear subs that serve only as international and political penis extensions. Besides which, as far as I know, Al Qaeda don't have an air force, or a coast line. So aircraft carriers aren't exactly the best tool for the job.

I gotta be honest, I have zero fucking respect for these whiny fuckers that bitch and moan about 'our lads being treated badly'. They should know good and well that they're going to get treated like shit, it's hardly something that's just happened overnight it's been going on for ages. Also, who makes the UK what it is?
